Under $10 Gift Ideas - It Doesn't Have to Be Expensive to Be Special

I can not tell a lie!

There's not one sign of Christmas here at our house. Not a tree...not a wrapped gift...not a jingle bell in sight!

It's fall and we are loving each and every minute of it! However, on blogs and in magazines, we all want to get ideas from each other so I'm joining my Ten on the 10th friends to share Christmas ideas under $10 today. My gift ideas all come straight from Dollar Tree.

I do love to gather ideas from one another so posts like this excite me. If you follow me on Pinterest, you can find gift ideas here too.

First off is a little gift for a friend, neighbor, or perhaps a hostess. This gift came in at $2.00! The star-shaped dish and soft peppermint candies are from Dollar Tree. Wrap this up in some clear plastic with the perfect bow and it's darling! Seriously, the dish was $1.00 and the peppermints were $1.00.

Next, give your friend a helping hand and supply her with some cute paper goods. I found plates, napkins, cups, and a fun box of candy all for $4.00 total. Remember, there's no Christmas here at my house yet so I couldn't wrap this as I would love to if I were presenting it to someone but you can imagine it. Right?  Wouldn't this be a cute gift to give?

I have one more idea to share today and I'm thinking of elderly people. I love to buy greeting cards at Dollar Tree because they are 2/$1.00! How about gathering several sweet cards together that your recipient can mail out during the year. Put some yummy cookies and maybe some stamps with it and then you have a thoughtful gift for the person who doesn't leave the house much. I'd budget $10 for this gift because stamps are .47 each now.

Oh, that cute snowman sign was $1.00 too. I don't mean to be an ad for Dollar Tree today but sometimes I love to roam that store!

  1. The Dollar Store has some great items for inexpensive gift giving - you came up with some great ideas!! I also enjoy roaming around that store! Who doesn't appreciate and enjoy a little bowl of candy, paper goods or greeting cards? These are great suggestions!!

  2. I was a Dollar Tree yesterday...it really is full of fun stuff. I adore all of your ideas and those chocolate covered Ritz crackers? Oh my goodness, they are my weakness. It's a good thing they only come around once a year! Oh and I'm with you. There's not a stitch of Christmas around here yet. We are in full fall mode!

  3. These are great suggestions for gifts! Things can get out of hand, you know. My neighbor has been offering experiences for her grandkids instead of buying something they might not possibly want or need or even use. The Dollar stores are fun, whether Dollar Tree, Dollar Store or Family Dollar. At seventy-one, I well remember the dime stores.

  9. Stacey, Dollar Tree should pay all us bloggers for promoting all their goodies. Your ideas, especially the one for elderly folks, are thoughtful and special. Thanks so much for hosting.

  11. Stacey these are all cute. I like the one for someone who can't get out often. Purchasing cards and stamps is a great idea. I have been there and can tell you it's hard when you can't even get a card.

    Enjoy your weekend

  17. I am a bargain hunter, especially at Christmas. I love to put together small, inexpensive yet cute and/or useful gifts. We live in a very small town where shopping is minimal but Dollar General and even Dollar Tree sometimes have some really cute things you can use to put together simple gifts that don't cost a lot of money but don't look "cheap". I have already started my shopping (mostly online) but won't wrap gifts or put up decorations until the day after Thanksgiving. And boy is that a LOT of work!!!
