Fall Is Knocking on Our Texas Front Door - Porch Tour

Welcome friends to our fall front porch! Today I'm joining a very talented group of ladies sharing front porches and patios dressed for fall. There's so much to see in this group from the tiniest front stoop  in the city to huge porches in the mountains. Whether you are a regular sweet reader or you are popping in from Marty's, A Stroll Thru Life, I'm glad you are here.

On my fall front door, I've hung a pretty wreath that I found at HomeGoods. Making wreaths is always fun but when you walk into a store and find one you love that is reasonably priced, why not grab and go?!

The best part about fall in Texas...besides football...is that the weather cools off just enough to allow our plants to revive and be beautiful again as the season ends. My porch plants are still showing off with gorgeous color and texture and adding pumpkins into the mix is always fun. There are no fake pumpkins here just basic orange pumpkins that I found at Aldi for $2.49 each! Woo hoo! I would still like to add white pumpkins and a few Cinderella pumpkins too.

We spend a lot of time on our front porch swing. We have coffee out here in the mornings and listen to a neighboring rooster. We have something cold to drink in the evenings because this is the east side of the house where we can hide from the harsh sun. We live in a neighborhood out in the country so we have the best of both worlds. We have the nicest neighbors but we also have cows, horses, coyotes, and all those good things nearby. How about your neighborhood?

The cute Hello Fall pillow was a new addition this year that I ordered from this Etsy shop.

It's no secret that gardening is one of our loves and it has been great this fall to see so many perennials thriving. The mums we bought for the porch last year went into the ground just before it got cold and came back this year splendidly.  We've added a few more mums to the garden this year.

The Autumn Joy Sedum is so pretty! I think we need to plant a few more.

We love spending time outside right now observing the changes that are happening - listening, looking, and smelling all that this season has to offer. What's happening outdoors in your neck of the woods?

Please consider pinning and sharing.

I hope you'll continue on with this Fall Porch and Patio tour to see what the others have to share. There's always so much inspiration in this group. Next in line is Carol's cottage at Art and Sand. Many thanks to Amber of Follow the Yellow Brick Home for bringing this group together. :)

  6. Your fall porch looks like a wonderful spot for morning coffee and evening cold beverages. Your summer plants are so pretty and they look wonderful with the addition of mums and pumpkins. I love your fall wreath. Making wreaths is fun but it's even better when you find one you like and don't have to DIY it. I hope you continue to enjoy your porch this fall!

  8. Hi Stacey. Well you beautiful decor on your porch says Hello and welcome and come on in to watch the football game! So pretty. We are still in summer mode for a few more days here and then very cold temps are moving in. Crazy here in Illinois to be in the 80's and high 70's this week and then on Friday the high is only going to be 45. Mother Nature up here is very confused. I hope with the cooler temps I can start to get my outside done up for fall.
    Have a great week.

  17. Stacey,
Your front door wreath is perfect for the black door. I agree, when you find a stunning wreath you love for a reasonable price, go for it! How did I miss your front door's exterior is black? I guess I just see your lovely aqua interior side in my mind when I think of your front door. It is pouring rain as I write this, and it has been storming with pouring rain off and on for hours now. The natural gulley wash in my back yard is normally dry all year, but today it is flooded with water flowing swiftly to the ditches. It is 65°, and we are headed to highs in the 50s within the next 5-7 days. Hello, Fall, and Goodbye, Fall all in the same week.

  18. Isn't it fun to watch the mums come up the next year. I planted 3 big plants last year that had been on the porch and they are providing the color for the garden this year.

I love that wreath - wish we had a Home Goods nearby, but it's probably good that we don't.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the porch.

  19. Very pretty, Stacey! I love your black door and that wreath is perfect. I agree on picking one up vs making it if the price is right. Your plants are thriving! So, so pretty. I can really appreciate all the comments re: living in the country yet enjoying both city/country life, the sun and where you sit/when, planting last year's mums and feeling the thrill of their return. Livin' the dream, you are! My sedum Autumn Joy is totally rust now! We've had some TX heat lately, but looking at quite a change this weekend.

  27. What a warm and welcoming look. We have not planted any mums this year. They last such a short time so we're just going to be without this year. I love Homegoods but the closest one is 100 miles away and I guess that is probably good. :o))

  33. Oh Stacey, your porch is so pretty and so welcoming for Fall! Your black door is so elegant and your choice of a wreath for it is perfect! My favorite is all of the lush greenery, it makes such a nice backdrop for pumpkins and mums! Happy Fall!

  34. Oh Stacey your summer flowers and mums are looking fab! I know how disappointed you were back in the summer for the vintage garden tours but they are really thriving now! I l love your traditional orange pumpkins mixed in. Those same Aldi pumpkins are the ones we buy about a week before Halloween that I use on our front porch stairs and for carving. For the price and size they can't be beat.
I have never had luck planting the mums I buy for fall decor. Will they still make it if they are faded and dying by November if I plant them in that state? Maybe I should try planting them the first week of November.
That wreath looks perfect on your door. Your porch and environment seems perfect for enjoying fall. Enjoy it all season! Thanks for joining the tours!

  38. Love the wreath and pillows! It all looks so gorgeous! I desperately want some mums for my front porch, but we don't get enough sun for them to do well. I'm contemplating getting some anyway and will love them for as long as they survive! :-) Hope you are enjoying this MUCH cooler weather! Feels like fall here in Texas!
