Flowers of Northern California and May Garden Party

Good morning friends. I'm so glad you are here for another garden party! I thought I'd share photos of flowers and plants that I took on our California adventure last week. We traveled northern California - staying at Mendocino, Ferndale, and Santa Rosa. There was so much beauty! Many of these photos were taken in natural settings and honestly, a person couldn't do better than nature itself.

Mendocino, California on the shores of the Pacific.

Peeking over the cliffs of the ocean we spotted thousands of small succulents growing on the walls. Who would have ever guessed?

Ferndale, California. Ferndale is a Victorian village that is filled with character. There were so many flowers blooming there and beautiful homes that the setting of this little town was surreal. Below is Fern Dale Mansion.

  21. Stacey, I do exactly as you've done when we go on trips. It's such an eye opener to see all the various regional differences in our gardens and what's native to each. This is yet another reason why the garden link party is a fabulous idea. I finally took time to get a garden post up - I've been so busy in May, just doing maintenance chores. It's not easy!
Thanks so much for organizing and hosting the party. Happy Memorial Day.

  23. The staff here is actually competent and friendly, unlike other places with their pretentious staff guys. The NYC venues were magnificent and modern, and the seating was comfy. Truly, the food was heavenly and as a visitor I am glad for finding this one.
