The PERK Project

Good morning friends. Monday kicks off a little project that Jemma and I have been talking about together. Because we all love acronyms, we had to come up with just the right name for this endeavor and so we are calling this The PERK Project. Our purpose is to be positive, encouraging, real, and kind.

We are planning to talk about different ways we can incorporate these ideas into our lives for the next four weeks. Starting Monday, we will be addressing Positive. This will include positive thinking, positive words, and positive actions.

Let's be real about the fact that the world feels like it's in a little bit of a tailspin right now. The media, the economy, health and family issues, and complicated lives can really get us down if we allow that to happen. On the other hand, we have choices to make in life and that's part of this project.

We hope you will join us in putting Positive*Encouraging*Real*Kindness in the world just a little more than you already do.  We want to learn from you just as much as we want to share.  Please add to this conversation in the comments as we go along. We are excited and hope you will be too. There will be giveaways with this project beginning with Jemma's the first week and one from me the next week.

Let's do this on purpose! See you Monday. :)

  1. You go, girls! We need lots more PERK in this ol world. I'm looking forward to following along. I was raised very negatively and have worked hard to be a positive person. Reinforcements are always good!

  20. I absolutely LOVE this!

On Friday I had an Instagram coming to do crafts and RUSHED to the grocery store for snacks hoping to get back before she arrived. A voice behind me said, "I need to catch a ferry in 9 minutes, can I go ahead of you?" I let him go and joked that a 2 hour ride out to the islands would not be very good without his snacks. All of a sudden the entire line was laughing and joking. One man said, "can I call Island Packers to tell them to hold the boat?" Another asked which island he was headed to and we all told him not to rush and risk a ticket.

Waiting in lines is never fun, but the urgency of the young man made us all laugh at 8 a.m. And, it was a great start to our days.
