Sunny & Bright Home Tour

Good morning!

Today I'm sharing my home as a stop on the
Sunny & Bright Home Tour organized by Terri at Our Good Life.

summer kitchen, summer home tour

In the kitchen it's all about light and bright with lots of flowers.
I've been cutting flowers from my yard every morning and we have jars of them everywhere.
I love it! When you go out into the yard in the mornings while the grass is still wet and cut something beautiful to have in your house it just feels so old fashioned and perfect.

I moved the sign that was hanging in our kitchen/eating area to another spot and created this "collagey wall" as my son calls it. Everything here is old except the printable that I
downloaded at Frosted Events blog.  I love this combination of unrelated items.
Our dining room is still showing off in red and white but I'm plotting some new ideas in here.

In our family room we are learning day by day to live with a white couch. I love the way it looks but will confess that I just about have a heart attack when someone sits or lays down on it. That's what a couch is for though so I'm trying to be calm about it.

In the master bedroom which is right off the family room, things have pretty much stayed the same since the day I sang with Barry Manilow last year. When something makes you happy there's no need to change for a little while. Right now I'm still in love with this room.

Did you see the entryway dressed for summer that I shared yesterday?

The real star of the show at our house right now is our pond which is really becoming quite beautiful.
It takes a little time for things to settle in and we are getting there.

Thank you for stopping by for my Sunny & Bright Home Tour.
Happy Summer Friends!

  1. Good Morning Stacey!
Oh I adore your Summer tour and I so agree with you about the "feeling," of being Old Fashioned, when we pick flowers from our gardens.
Your home is so pretty and just look at these colors and oh the napkin too-you made me smile:)
    Have a happy day!

  2. There is nothing like flowers from the yard. You can't achieve that look with store bought, even though I treat myself often with store bought.
Everything looks so summery and pretty!

  10. Your home is always so fresh and pretty. I love the colors you use. We got a white sofa about a year and a half ago. The kids are gone and I just wanted something that I could change with accessories easily. We were afraid to sit on it for about 2 days! Then I grabbed one of the throw pillows that came with it, knowing I would be changing them to something less plain, took it in the kitchen and poured coffee on it. I had to know what would happen! Well, thankfully we ordered the couch upholstered in sunbrella fabric and the coffee just beaded up. I even let it sit for a while and it wiped right off. We loosened up after that. At this point I told Earl, if it gets stained we will have washable slipcovers made. I'm glad we got white and I would do it again!

  11. Hi Stacey,
I love your bright and sunny home filled with flowers from your yard displayed in blue bottles. Everything looks so lovely and the colours are my favs. I would love a white couch too but with all the men in my life, {I have three sons and some little grandsons too}, they wouldn't appreciate a white couch. My guys are all on their own now but when they come home they like to put their feet up and who am I to deny them? And like you, I'd be concerned about dirty feet, scuffed up jeans and what not on there. I also love your hutch displaying red/pink transferware. Be still my heart! Wonderful posting and thank you for sharing with us. I'm your newest follower. Happy Summer!

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  22. Stacey, I love the continuity of your light color scheme in your living spaces, but I have to agree - the real star is that water lily! I know the excitement you must've felt when you saw it. It's an affirmation of all things right in the pond - congrats!

  26. Stacey, it looks so fresh! You're so brave to have a white couch, I could never do it. I'd be having what my grandma called conniption fits daily. Lol. I love your butterfly picture - it turned out so good. That was fun to learn how to do. Love the water lily too. I bet you enjoy sitting by your pond and just listening to it! Everything is just so pretty!

  27. Stacey your home is so pretty and has a wonderful light and airy feel. Love it! Your pond is a work of art. I can't believe how fast your lilies have grown. I know how you feel about your white sofa, my son was house sitting for us two days after we got our not-quite-white sofa and dropped a piece of pizza face down on it. I'm so happy I wasn't home! Thanks for sharing.

  50. Hi Stacey,

Your home is lovely -- so cheerful and bright for the summer months! I laughed when I read your comment about anyone sitting or laying down on your sofa; that's why we don't have a white sofa. I would drive myself and everyone else crazy. ;) I love your table setting in the kitchen; those napkins are gorgeous and they match the plates perfectly. Your master bedroom looks very restful and serene, and I love the pretty water lily in your pond. Your house looks like a great place to be in the summertime.

Thank you for your visit and kind comments; I hope you and your family have a wonderful Fourth of July!!

    Hugs,

    Denise at Forest Manor
