A Master Bedroom Color Change

Good Morning and Happy New Year!

I'm starting off the year with an earth shattering color change
in the master bedroom that is long over due.

For years now I've been loving the robin's egg blue that some of you use so freely.
I've been adding it slowly but surely around our house.

Well, a few weeks ago a friend and I attended the McKinney Holiday Tour of Homes
and one house in Tucker Hill inspired me so much that seriously, I could have moved right
in there. Anyway, I knew after seeing her master bedroom that I had to make a change.
Her walls were painted a beautiful bluish green with all cream bedding.

I'm not about to start painting the walls in our 11' tall bedroom so the color has to come from bedding. We ran across these gorgeous linen shams at Laurie Anna's on Saturday.
The love of my life thought they were perfect too so HELLO new color scheme. :)
And perfect mirror hanging on the wall above the display bed....you come home with me too.

I'm swooning and this change was so easy with just a couple of pillows, a mirror,
and a pitcher that I already had. :)
Still need maybe one more pillow with a little pattern on it and the search is on!

My decorating mojo is rejuvenated by a beautiful color.
What's exciting you lately?

  1. Love the linen shams! I'm starting to like blues more and more. I never thought I'd have blue in my master bedroom, but then they sent me the wrong bedding set and it had blue around the edges (instead of brown) so I just went for it and incorporated a few blue items in there and now I love it! Happy mistake, I guess. :) Love your new mirror too!

  2. Okay....I'm in love with those shams...the mirror is lovely too, but I am a textile FREAK!!
I'm smiling though, because over the Christmas break, I found a bedding set...brand new in the bag....at the thrift store! It is a lovely pale color like your shams, accented with......................orange! Yikes...this ole' lady has no idea what to do with orange, but I bet I can figure something out :^) It's a very small bit of orange, so it is not so much in your face!
I may have to highjack you to Waco to supervise this escapade :^)
Happy new year and many blessings to you,
    J

  4. I love that color, as well, Stacey, but I've never had much luck pulling it off in our home. We have a lot of gold, burgundy, and brown. Who knows, though, maybe I'll take the plunge and switch things up a little, too.

  18. Pretty Pretty! And you can easily change it up again if another color inspires you later on. I've had my bedroom and bathroom walls painted bluish gray for a year now and I'm ready for another color...
But I LOVE change! Have a great day and enjoy your new room Stacey!

  21. Very pretty additions, Stacey, and a great way to bring the color in. We actually have to paint our bedroom. The husband is off in a couple of weeks and has said he will do it then. Now I am trying to decide on the color although I am staying neutral. I just want to go a little darker than the color that is already there. I think it makes it easy to do things like you have done, bring in some other colors when the mood strikes.
