Happy Monday!

What a beautiful morning!

I walked today in our pretty park downtown.
This park reminds me of the Texas of my childhood.

No speeding cars or big buildings.

Just me and the mockingbirds and bunnies.

Loving the roses.

Oh and the honeysuckle that grows all along the creek beds!
Isn't that the best smell God ever created?

My Iphone pics can not possibly capture how pretty it was out there.
A soft breeze blowing and the perfect temperature for walking.

Have you been outside today?

  1. How pretty, Stacey! Love the honeysuckle, as well! Growing up in Louisiana, our neighbors had honeysuckle that grew up on the fence between us. I can smell it now! Lol!

  2. It's a really pretty day here too - I really need to get out there. On Mondays I always feel like I have to get the house back in order from the weekend but I really should just forget about it and get outside!

  7. What a beautiful place to walk. I haven't been outside yet. It was foggy and cool this morning. This afternoon it will warm up a bit and then outside I will go!

  11. Beautiful pics! I love the smell of honeysuckle too. I spent the morning outside planting my new gomphrena flowers we talked about. :) I ended up just cutting off the brown part of the juniper and left the rest of it. Then I just planted the flowers in front of the juniper. I love them already! Such pretty purple blooms. I think I'll dry some like you did. :)

  12. What a beautiful place to walk! We went outside and had lunch in the garden today. About 70 degrees and sunshine, we sat and planned what and when we would begin planting. Our last frost date is still about 2 weeks away.

  16. What a lovely way to start the day. I completely agree with you on the scent of honeysuckle. We took a walk after dark the other night and could smell them before seeing them. Heavenly.
Sadly I've only been outside today to shake the dust rag and water the plants. I'm in the middle of an attic cleaning before it's too hot to be in there.
Love your new blog design, btw.

  17. Oh- I am so jealous. It has been so cold and dreary here- rainy and grey. Nothing but daffodils blooming and the trees have not leafed out yet. I took that walk with you and can almost SMELL the honeysuckle. xo Diana

  18. Stacey! Hmmm...not sure what a no-reply blogger is. I'll have to look into it. Darla is my alter ego. Here are a couple of links, if you are interested!

  19. Stace, I forgot....the yellow flowers are nasturtiums! Yes....those are sweet peas...they died off though...we had over 100 degree temps and it just fried my darling loves to the ground. :(

  20. Stacey what a beautiful walk you took! That park is just lovely and I too love the white honeysuckle. I worked in the yard all day and I'm a little sore tonight, but now relaxing as we are getting ready to watch the OKC Thunder.

  28. I love your new blog design, Stacey! We've had chilly temps and cloudy skies for several days, but the sun is finally shining, again, and I plan to head outdoors in a few!

  29. Oh yes it is lovely and I do adore the scent of Honeysuckle! It reminds me of my sweet mother. When her and dad got older they sold our home and bought a mobile home. She had honeysuckle growing along the back patio. It smelled like heaven out there!
    hugs,
    Jann
