Our Home Tour

May 29, 2013 was our One Year Anniversary
in this house and living back in The Great State of Texas. :)

Perfect time for a little tour, don't you think?

Now let me tell you....there's not a room in this house that is complete.

I guess I'm really slow.

The entry is large and has been confusing to me.
There are two tables in here
and three niches in the wall. Most of you have heard me fuss about those niches before.

To the right of the entry is our dining room.

Your can read about this blogging labor of love here and here.

This room went from nekkid to beautiful with the advice of my friends.

Around a corner from the front door is a downstairs guest room.

I call this the Granny Room because our elderly
family members always choose this room to avoid climbing the stairs.

The Granny Room has tiny little bathroom.
You can see the beautiful shower curtain and accessories here.
I brought all of this from the last house.

Here's the family room that is open to the kitchen and eating area.

Sorry about the glare...there are lots of windows looking out on the pond.

You can see the kitchen over there beyond the family room.

More pictures here.

I love this kitchen!!

The master bedroom is downstairs also.

We love this room. :)

I thought I'd show you this fun wall in the laundry room.

I covered the upper section with Cavallini Papers.

The left side of the room is the washer/dryer/sink area.

Everything upstairs is only 1/2 way done because I've made the downstairs the priority.

Here's a peek at the bedrooms.

The one below is my son's room.
He just took it upon himself to repaint and I love the color he chose...it's a bluish gray.

I call this Spencer's room even though he doesn't live here and he hates the bedspread and the picture. :)

That's a Janet Hill print above the bed.
The deer has flowers and butterflies on his antlers and he is not a Christmas deer!
Let me tell you, that's a constant debate around here.

I have plans to plank the wall at the head of this bed.

This is the Girly Room.
This room makes me swoon and stare.

No girls in our family so I just had to do this. :
You can see more of this room here.

Thank you for visiting today and I hope you'll come again soon.

Thank you to Gina at Shabby Creek Cottage for hosting the Summer Tour of Homes linky party.

  5. You have made your home so welcoming and pretty! I think you have made great progress in just one year, it takes a long time to get the feel for a house. How envious am I of that wonderful open kitchen and all of the counter space?!!! It's all just gorgeous, Stacey!
    xoxo, Andrea

  8. You've got a beautiful home and I can relate to not having rooms that feel completely finished. But I think mine never will, I think decorating is a lot like Life. It's always in process.

  17. Your home is so pretty!!! Your dining room is one of my favorites in blogland, and I really love the wallpaper in your laundry room. It's so much fun! Wow, I can't believe it's already been a year since you moved.

I didn't know about the party. I might have to take a few of the tours!

We've lived in our home for almost ten years, and it still needs some work in the bathrooms. They're the only untouched rooms in our home.

I still like the niches in your foyer, and I can't wait to see what you do with them.

  18. Such a cozy and elegant home! I love the red accents, they are so warm feeling!

  27. Hi Stacey,

I LOVE your kitchen and dining room for their RED and white and whimsical accessories! You do realize that we basically have the same curtains?:) Also love your bedroom colours and patterns, a nice quiet country vibe. When I saw the deer painting, I lost it! I have mentioned Janet Hill and how I adore her work in one of my very first posts! And lastly, cannot stop smiling at your fun wall papered in all that pretty design!

  31. It is all lovely, but my favorite idea is the wall covered in Cavellini paper - how clever.

  32. You have such a beautiful home. I too love the wall covered in paper. Such a unique idea.

  33. I love your house, Stacey! I could move right in. I like your style.

  34. Your house is so pretty and inviting, Stacey. I love what you've done! I've been in my house 12 years and I'm just now feeling like it reflects my personality, so I'm definitely slow!!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!

  35. I love every room of your house, Stacey ... you've done a fantastic job, and I especially like the way you incorporated reds throughout the rooms.

Your home is so welcoming, from the minute you walk in the front door ... and every room beckons you to "come on in and sit a spell."

  36. You really have a beautiful home. I love the colours you chose for your walls.

  37. Hi Stacey,
I'm so glad I came over for a visit because I got to see your gorgeous home. I love all your touches of red. It is such a warm, vibrant color. I had a niche in an entry in another house, and it was the hardest thing to decorate around!

  38. I needed a comment box under each photo, beginning with those 3 wonderful mirrors in your entry and continuing through to the girly bedroom (which is the one I would choose to use if I came for a visit. All of it looks beautiful, Stacey. I loved getting to see so much of your home at one time. laurie

  39. Gorgeous Home Stacey!!! Love the gift wraps in your laundry area!!! So cool, wish I could see more of this space!
