A Frog or Toad Encounter

Today I went to empty the water from a little pitcher of fresh flowers that sits on my patio.  When I tipped the pitcher over, a toad landed in my hand and about scared me to death!  It caused me to remember the frog at the bottom of this old post.

So....I'm participating in Miss Chari's Sunday Favorites Party. :)

This was originally posted on 3/17/2009.  It has been shortened just a little.

We are enjoying such beautiful weather here that nothing in my house could compare with what's happening outside.

Moving things around a little. Brought out this tin bird picture that I purchased last summer.

Brought out this beautiful dried flower nest that was a gift from my sweet Aunt Jean.

Moved some platters around. Recognize the big white one?
Yes it's supposed to be on my kitchen table that hubby stole!!
The solution to that problem is in the works.
Now let's move outside...

Beautiful redbuds blooming.

One more picture I have to share....
My older son has always had a love of frogs. I have many pictures of him over the years holding frogs and toads of various sizes. He caught this one on Tuesday from our pond. Don't you just want to kiss him on the lips? Well, I think by all of the noise he makes out there he's hoping some girl frog will kiss him on the lips.

Thanks for coming by this blazing hot July day. Be sure to go visit Miss Chari and all the other Sunday Favorites participants.

  4. Ewwww! We have little geickos here that hide in pots...I am not thrilled about them either!

  5. I'll pass on that frog but love your decor changes.

May her flag fly high & proud forever over this great land ... may God see the changes we need & grant us that blessing.

    Happy 4th, my friend,

  6. LOL I bet you scared the little guy more, if it makes you feel any better..... ;P

    Have a blessed Sunday!

  7. Hi Stacey...

My friend, I was just tickled pink to see you signed up for the Sunday Favorites party today! So true...it has been way too long since we have visited! I find that Blogland is just growing sooo big these days...and I find it more and more difficult to get around to all of my friends! I hope that my note finds you and your sweet family all doing well, dear lady!

Hehe...ohhh yea...I bet that frog did give you a "start"! I would have screamed! Not that I'm afraid of frogs...because they really are fascinating little creatures...but just for the sheer surprise of it all! We don't have many frogs here at my place. I suppose it's because of the arid climate. Ohhh...but when I lived in south Texas...they were plentious!

Well dear lady, I sure enjoyed this sweet post! I loved getting a peek at the beautiful changes that you made in your home at the beginning of the season! By the way...love, love, LOVE that pretty red transferware plate and gorgeous white platter! Thank you so much for sharing this with us for the Sunday Favorites repost party, my friend!

Wishing you and yours a very Happy 4th of July!

  8. Love that white platter! It is so fun to go "shopping" in your own house. Waaaay cheaper too! Thanks for visiting so I could find you! Love what I have seen so far of your blog!

  9. Seriously needs a kiss on the lips. What a face that is. Who cares if he is a prince.
I wonder who was more startled when you tipped over the pitcher? I'm betting it was you.

  10. What an adorable little guy! We occasionally find a toad in our pool, it is just so hilarious to watch them swimming and diving. Hope you all are having a great holiday weekend!

  11. That's one big frog!

Love the tin bird picture and the transferware plate!

    Have a wonderful 4th!

  12. Hi Stacey, I love the story. I had a BIG frog jump on me the other day when I lifted the trash can lid outside. I screamed my head off. Seems my husband has named him George. Well, he is now taking out the trash!! Ha ha.

    Love your pics.

  13. I always forget how much I love and enjoy redbuds. That is until they bloom -they just seem to scream "wake up"! To the world after a cold winter.

Which is kinda funny to be appreciating since it's been in the 100's here in Oklahoma.
