Mysteries Abound

Mysterious Monday.

I like the alliteration.

We used to have 6 of these bowls.  Now there are 4.  I broke one.

No one will confess about the other.

Do these things happen at your house?

I hope you all have a very Happy Monday.

I'm working in my classroom today.

  1. Cute bowls. Yes, where do those pieces go over the years??? Bowls and cups, especially.

  2. What a shame as those bowls are so cute. We do have similar mysteries here, but they usually involve the dryer and the socks.

  3. I have a mystery of my own. We used to have 6 small, white ramekin dishes, now there is one! I plead guilty to breaking one.
    ; )

  5. I had a birthday dinner for my girls last night, where has all my everyday silverware gone? I love it, but I don't think I can find it anymore. Have to start shopping.

  6. We are down to four forks here.....

  7. It happens to us with silverware! Every so often, spoons, knifes or forks disappear. Some times they turn back up again! And it is just the hubbie and I....

  8. Oh yes, we have had a missing butcher knife from our chopping block that we just replaced. Now that's a scary mystery! Searched everywhere high and low for it, nowhere to be found. Just how does one misplace a butcher knife?

  9. Very cute post!

I know, these things tend to disappear around here but reappear when my son cleans his room.

  10. Uhhhh, Yup! It sure does happen here. Last night a glass did not enjoy it's location on our granite countertop. :( It went out with a bang!

  11. Good Morning Stacey Sweetie...
I have got to tell you. I love these bowls, as polka dots are my favorites. So pretty.

Now I will tell you what I think. I am beginning to think that they dishwasher eats these disappearing bowls. Much like the washer eats our misplaced socks.

    Have a gorgeous Monday sweetie.

    Country hugs, Sherry

  12. hmmm.... I would like to know how a $79 Wusthoff knife disappeared from my kitchen!!! swept away into the trash bin with the rest of the counter clutter, perhaps? I will never know. Meanwhile, I have yet to replace that little knife with anything expensive. Bought some never need sharpening ones at a demonstration at Sam's Club one day!! LOL
Your bowls are sweet, too. Wonder why no one ever admits to anything?!
    hugs, Sue

I think I throw things away without thinking about it...and I have been known to put things in the wrong place...I started to put the toaster in the freezer the other day...aaahhhh the joys of old age;)!

Good luck with your classroom...take some pics!

  15. Reminds me of that comic strip Family Circus with the little ghosty "Not Me" running around doing things.

When do you go back to school? I report next Monday. I went and worked in my room Friday but there's still lots more to do. I'm just not ready!

  16. Stacey that is so funny. Sorry about the broken ones. They sure are darling!

I know it must be tough with them both moving out. I will pray for all to go well.

Have a good week at work.

  18. Ha ha!! Well, not any more! But when I was growing up if something was broken and mother and daddy didn't do it - I was caught as I had no brothers or sisters!!
Those are some mighty cute bowls!!
    Be a sweetie,
    Sheila ;)

  21. Well, ummmm, no, I have no idea what happens to missing blows and saucers, etc. That's my story and I'm sticking to it ~ (grin)

  22. Have fun in your classroom. I remember when I would help my Brian get his classroom ready. He is now an Administrator so I am not much needed anymore. When he was a Principal I would make a breakfast for all the teachers on the first day of school.
My Hannah will be attending the New York Institute of Photography. After 19 years of homeschooling I am only down to my Caleb. I am really kind of sad about it. Can you image being sad at working myself out of a job? Silly~
You have a great back-to-school week!

  23. Yes!!! All of a sudden I only have 3 soup spoons. No one knows what happened to the others!!?

  24. Thanks for stopping by Stacey! I too have a fork thief around our house! Apparently my hubby leaves them at work but thinks he brings them home, along with the plastic bowls!

  25. Check the freezer. That is where I found one of my missing bowls. Someone was eating ice cream in it and decided they couldn't eat anymore. They covered it with plastic wrap and put it in the freezer. Somehow it got pushed to the back, out of sight, for many a month. I searched everywhere for the bowl. Great post you shared, and somehow I think I would still be searching if my bowls were as cute as your polka dotted ones were.

  28. Hi Stacey,
I have mysterious disappearances around here, too! Too bad you're down to only four, those are adorable bowls. Love the dots.
Thanks so much for your words of encouragement the other day, I do appreciate your support.

  29. Yes. Although, my family thinks I'm blind, and they will glue the pieces back together thinking I won't see all the cracks. You could try the, "Why did you break this?" question and see who "cracks" {pun intended} first! : )

  30. I have the same troube here, but for some reason my dishes keep multiplying. It must be all of those cute selections out there. Speaking of which, those bowls are sooooooo cute!!!

Happy back to school time :)

  33. My problem is if I have a "set" of something and one goes missing, I no longer have a set. I'm just left with odds and ends. Makes me cranky.

I enjoyed my visit. Thanks for adding my button. You're a sweetheart! I'm following!
