Outdoor Wednesday

Now, Susan at Southern Daydreamer is hosting Outdoor Wednesday today.

(Photos are from Dallas Arboretum Website)
Today I am sharing pictures from the Dallas Arboretum. These pictures are taken from their website. (I hope I don't get arrested)

I grew up in the Dallas area and remember going there when I was little. When I was a child it was called The DeGolyer Estate, named after the family who lived there. The last time I visited was about 5 years ago. I always think about it as the seasons are changing because the whole place is just breath taking.

There are hundreds of volunteers as well as paid staff who help tend the Arboretum grounds. On our last visit, there were crews of people pulling any plant that didn't look just right and putting in another. Imagine that!!

When my boys were younger we visited in the fall once. They loved it too! There were lots of seasonal decorations. The DeGolyer mansion was "spooky" in my boys eyes. The tour guides showed us hidden doors. Spencer & Tanner thought that was amazing!

Enjoy these pictures. If you live near by please do go visit. The gift shop is amazing too. You know, we really don't have any place like this in Oklahoma City and I miss it.

Now off to visit more Outdoor Wednesday posts.

  4. Hey Stacey - You too are very creative!!! Thanks for your kind words. Those garden pictures are out of this world - that looks like my dream place and did you have fun playing Bunco? I actually played tonight - didn't win a thing - as usual. But if I had been at your house - I would have so loved that cloche!!! Being last would have been a great thing! Have a great evening.
