You just don't know how much you love your computer until it's sick!!! I think ours is all better now which leads me to this:

This is what happened with our computer...I think. A few weeks back our hard drive crashed and everything was wiped off. When we restarted I guess we didn't get virus protection back on...we didn't realize this. So at some point last Wednesday we were inundated with Trojan viruses and Adware.

To try to solve the problem I paid for and downloaded Norton Antivirus. It recognized several different Trojan viruses and quarantined them. However, each time we got back on the computer more viruses and more pop ups occurred.

Next, I contacted Norton and they told me that their program does not protect against pop ups. OK, fine!! They recommended Spy Doctor. I purchased and downloaded Spy Doctor. No difference - no help.

College son came home and downloaded Spybot Search and Destroy from the internet. Guess what - it was free and it worked.

So file this in your memory Spybot Search and Destroy. I am in a happy place now. :) I thank you all for your moral support.
