Our Christmas Kitchen

Good morning and let the Christmas festivities begin!

Today I'm joining a wonderful group of  bloggers for a Christmas Tour of Homes.  I am sharing our Christmas kitchen trimmed with a few special touches. Some of you know that we moved into our house this past summer.  Christmas Day will actually be our six month anniversary here in our Forever Home. We are loving the new spaces and are feeling very blessed.

Our new home has a very open floor plan with the kitchen and great room in one space. The kitchen island separates the two spaces. We love the openness!

The coffee maker is an important spot for us. I always giggle a little about "coffee bars" as seen on other blogs and in magazines. Calling it the coffee bar sounds to me like a spot set up for special occasions or times when there are visitors. Our coffee is always ready to go 24/7! The cups are kept in the cabinet above and the assorted coffees are in the drawer below.

True story - we once had a sweet neighbor, who had guests coming, ask to borrow our coffee pot. Clearly, she was not a coffee drinker and didn't understand how it works! :)

A pretty seasonal towel dresses up the farm sink of my dreams.

I brought out a silver tray that was a gift from my aunt years ago. At our last house we used it as an accent above the stove. This time it's on the counter with a sprinkling of ornaments and some fresh flowers.

The apothecary jars have been washed and shined. They are filled with my mother-in-law's silver, seasonal napkins, and a few powdered sugar donuts. The donuts definitely won't last long but they are pretty today. :)

The cost saving open shelves on one side of our kitchen have turned out to be so much fun! I'm enjoying moving things around and decorating for the seasons over there.

Lots of natural light!

We have a white Christmas tree in the corner of our eating area this year. It's decorated with kitchen and cooking related ornaments. I love it!   That little pink mixer is definitely my favorite ornament and if Santa wants to bring me the real thing, I won't argue.
Right now the kitchen table simply has a bowlful of ornaments. I really tried to go with a new color scheme this year but in the end, Christmas is filled with too many memories and things we love to put aside tried and true special things. As you look around you'll see the robin's egg blue we are using in this house mixed with red, pink, and lots of white. I do think it feels fresh and pretty.

Your home is always gorgeous and your Christmas touches are delightful. The robins egg blue is a lovely addition. It looks like the Christmas book found a perfect spot, too.

Simply, lovely and perfect! I still recommend farmhouse sinks to everyone when creating their kitchens. We still are the older Mr. Coffee people. Older being us and the coffee maker. We drink way too much coffee to not have a full pot everyday! I understand your friend. Thanks for sharing.

Stacey, you know that I love your kitchen and it especially looks wonderful at Christmas. I'm laughing about your coffee bar because, like your neighbor, we don't drink coffee and I can't make a cup to save my live. But I love the idea. the little trees are a sweet idea.

Your new home is beautiful, Stacey! I love how ethereal and white your kitchen is!!! Me all the way! ;) It's funny as I've always loved cabinets for hiding all of our miscellanea, but open shelves have been calling my name lately, too. Good evening Stacey, I know I have mentioned this before, but I really have to say it again, your home is beautiful. I adore open plan living as I find it such a sociable way to live.
I smiled when you mentioned coffee stations because I find as lovely as they are, and I've seen some beautiful photos on blogs, they would not work for me. Like you, our coffee percolater is always on the go and yes we also have our cups in the cupboard just above the coffee percolater.... it just makes so much sense.
It is lovely to catch up with you. Enjoy your day.
Best Wishes
Daphne

Stacey,
Your home is beautiful! The kitchen is simple but says Christmas time and I like that. I wish I was able to share my home as well, but it is not cozy and inviting as yours is and my kitchen counters can't be seen at the moment. Life has been crazy and the house shows it.

Stacey, I feel so bad for not stopping by sooner, but until today, I've been running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. I'm finally sitting down and trying to catch up with the blog hops I'm in and watching the snow falling. Your kitchen area is so lovely, and you added just enough Christmas decor without overdoing it. I love how you have the silverware in the apothecary jar and all your other special touches. The colors are beautiful and the narrow white tree is perfect in your area. Hope Santa gets the hint about the mixer! Hoping we can connect the next time I go to TX. I told my husband I'll rent a car so I can see all my many friends who live near and around you. Merry Christmas, my friend!
