Our Forever Home Kitchen Tour

Hi friends. Welcome to the kitchen of our Forever Home!  If you could see me smiling now you'd know for sure how happy we are to be here.

This is the dream kitchen that we didn't know we were dreaming of!

Light and and bright is the name of the game in this Texas kitchen with white cabinets, glass inserts, granite counter tops, stainless appliances and a few farmhouse touches. Sherwin Williams Water on the island and the perfect chandeliers add favorite touches.

Seriously, when we started this house building project our vision was for a light and bright kitchen with cabinets to the ceiling. That's pretty much how developed the plan was.  With many long hours spent studying kitchens on Pinterest and in magazines, we came up with this dream spot.

Light fixtures were picked from Pottery Barn and a local store. They are beautiful and functional....just perfect for shining the light on a pan of cookies or lasagna.

The island is 12 feet long with Sherwin Williams Watery on the woodwork. The blue seems to be the part that most people are drawn to and it's the choice most friends are surprised we made. :)

We've already had a couple of gatherings here in the six weeks since we moved in and the island is very helpful. We can serve lots of people here.

The secret ingredient in this kitchen is love.

The farm sink was definitely a dream item but I worried and fretted about this choice, y'all. We haven't had a white porcelain sink in a long time and I wasn't sure about the maintenance. You aren't advised to use bleach on the sink and this bleach loving girl just couldn't imagine! However, it's really not a big deal at all with trays in the bottom of the sink for protection and a little baking soda/Dawn mixture to scrub it clean. Everyday I smile at this sink.

Hello pretty backsplash. I love you so much!

The kitchen is filled with old and new things. The old things make us feel at home and the new things add excitement to life. We are so thrilled to be here and look forward to life and memories being made.

Seeded glass in some of the cabinets and glass knobs on the doors add sparkle.

A few little nooks along with open shelves give me space to display things that we enjoy. I'm dreaming of the holiday decorating that can happen here.

Thanks for stopping by today and for cheering us on through the building/moving process.  In the short time we've been here, we are already feeling very much at home. To say that we are grateful would be such an understatement!

I love the glass cabinets and farmhouse sink.
I really wanted a farmhouse sink for our present home(it was built 10 years ago), but couldn't convince my husband. But now,he agrees that it would have been a nice touch:) So, if we ever build again, it will have a farmhouse sink!
It's all beautiful!!

I love every detail in your gorgeous kitchen from the farm sink to the seeded glass cabinets. Your kitchen layout looks very similar to the one in our plans. I have a farm sink (Kohler) and I have used bleach to clean it!...never got that message about not using bleach. I have had it for over 12 years now and still looks like the day it was installed. I love secret ingredient!!!!

It's beautiful, Stacey! And you're right...your counters do look like the new ones we chose for our kitchen! I've had a white porcelain kitchen sink for 17 years and have always used bleach on it. I never knew I wasn't supposed to. Lol! It's been fine, so maybe it's not so bad to use it? Happy Friday!

Unbelievable!!! This is a dream kitchen for sure. I LOVE the chandeliers, the huge islands...everything. What can I say? I so wanted a farmhouse sink when we redid the lakehouse but we had just bought a new sink before the flood and it was sort of frivolous. I do love porcelain. I find that if I clean the sink every morning with dish soap and a brush or scrubby sponge, nothing stick or stains, it's just smooth. Every few days I use Soft Scrub with bleach. I let it sit for 5 minutes so I don't have to scrub. That's something (the scrubbing) that I think takes away the finish.

Well...I am so happy for you and your forever home. Looking for more tours!! :)

I love everything about your kitchen and I'm so excited for you to finally be in your forever home! You deserve every square inch of that wonderful island :)

I'm especially loving the cabinets with the glass front uppers for display. We are considering building our own home and that is a feature I'd really love to include (I've pinned it), if it comes into our budgeted amount. Hmmm...what else could we cut? The kitchen really is the HEART of the home!

Stacey, this is just to die for! Oh, I'd be making up reasons to cook if I could do it in that wonderful kitchen! All the light -- serious envy here! And I, too, love that pale blue. It's a wonderful color. I'll have to check the chip. That might be just the color I'm looking for in my bedroom. I think I have every chip except Sherwin Williams!

Love your blue crown utensil jug. Home Goods? I'm wondering if you got that during my visit -- I know you got turq. dinnerware.

I know you are pleased by it -- I can tell and with great, good reason. Love it!
