Update on Building Our Forever House - Part 3 - It's Getting Pretty

Hi friends!

I'm sharing a string of photos today to bring you up-to-date on the building process. Building this house has been a dream come true for us. Our builder has been so great to work with and watching it all come together has us smiling every single day. Of course, there are more photos of the kitchen than anything because it's my favorite part.

The open shelves below are in the eating area of the kitchen and have been trimmed out since I took this picture. They look so much better now.

Kitchen Eating Area

The master bathroom floors are covered in this marble that we just love. It was on special when I was shopping so it was a win for sure!

Master Bath

The day the granite was installed was so exciting! The little sample corner of granite that I've been carrying around since February is lighter than the whole slabs so it was a little bit of a shock. Nevertheless, we love it!  This is Dallas White granite that my friend Penny is also using in her new build.

The lighting has been so much fun! The chandeliers were all gathered from various places over the last 6 months and to see them all come together was wonderful. Oil rubbed bronze is the thread that ties it all together.

Master Bath

These little chandeliers below make me so happy!

Back in the Kitchen

This one is over the kitchen table area. I had not seen it in person before it was installed but it was love at first sight!

And then the front door that I picked out in December arrived. L O V E!!  The front door and shutters will be painted Sherwin Williams Tricorn Black which was a color we used in Oklahoma and enjoyed.

Front Porch

In the past few days the driveway and sidewalks were poured. The crew is at the house now scraping the wood floors. Again I will say that we've worked with the nicest craftsmen on this project. We count our blessings daily.  Thank you to all of you who are following along here and on Instagram. You are all so generous with your sweet comments. :)

If I can figure out the technology, I'm going to do a walk through video soon.

When there is love in the home, there is joy in the heart. ♥

WOW!! It all looks so beautiful! I love all of your lighting choices - well all of your choices!! My sample of Dallas White has more white too. I guess it is all where the slab is cut from. Yours looks great so I know I will be happy. We were informed today that our trusses and lumber are arriving next Tuesday to our site and the framing crew hopefully right after. Do you have a move in date yet?

(And it keeps you honest, too!) Id' love an island, too -- that one looks large, beautiful and very functional. It's exciting to see your photos but I know its even more so to you! Home stretch!

It's gorgeous Stacey! The color of your island is almost exactly what I would want, but it's not a choice we have as our home is not custom.

There's always paint though ;).
