Life has been unusually crazy here with us lately. Building a house and moving family members makes for head spinning busy-ness. In all of this though, I have taken time recently to read the best book! Last year I had the wonderful opportunity to read Kristy Woodson Harvey's book Lies and Other Acts of Love.
When the chance to read her new book popped up I had to say yes please! I'm sure you all have seen pictures of Kristy's wonderful book Slightly South of Simple popping up on social media. You can't ignore the beachy cover because it's that time of year when we are all gathering great summer reads.
When a story line includes the south, strong women, and love...I'm all for it!
This book is the perfect example of southern fiction which is my favorite genre.
Slightly South of Simple is about a family of women who all come together in the sweetest little town, Peachtree Bluff, Georgia. Ansley is the mother of three adult daughters. She has a cozy, comfortable life with her own interior design business. In just a few days time, her daughters all return to the nest for different reasons and her first love reappears very unexpectedly too. This, of course, makes her very uncomfortable because there are always secrets in the past. This is the perfect set up for great story!
Kristy Woodson Harvey has the ability to develop personalities, transport you to a beautiful setting, and make you feel like the characters are your friends. You'll relate to one or more of the women in the story and wonder about the choices they make. You'll remember your first love. You'll smell the ocean breeze as you read.
I know you'll love this book.
Definitely add Slightly South of Simple to your reading list soon.
Kristy has offered to give a copy of this book away to one lucky winner!! Just leave a comment here or you can email me at email@example.com to tell me you'd like to read it. I will draw a name on Friday May 5th.
