Slightly South of Simple - A Fantastic Book!

Life has been unusually crazy here with us lately. Building a house and moving family members makes for head spinning busy-ness. In all of this though, I have taken time recently to read the best book!  Last year I had the wonderful opportunity to read Kristy Woodson Harvey's book Lies and Other Acts of Love

When the chance to read her new book popped up I had to say yes please!  I'm sure you all have seen pictures of  Kristy's wonderful book Slightly South of Simple popping up on social media.  You can't ignore the beachy cover because it's that time of year when we are all gathering great summer reads.
When a story line includes the south, strong women, and love...I'm all for it!

This book is the perfect example of southern fiction which is my favorite genre.

Slightly South of Simple is about a family of women who all come together in the sweetest little town, Peachtree Bluff, Georgia. Ansley is the mother of three adult daughters. She has a cozy, comfortable life with her own interior design business.  In just a few days time, her daughters all return to the nest for different reasons and her first love reappears very unexpectedly too.  This, of course, makes her very uncomfortable because there are always secrets in the past.  This is the perfect set up for great story!

Kristy Woodson Harvey has the ability to develop personalities, transport you to a beautiful setting, and make you feel like the characters are your friends. You'll relate to one or more of the women in the story and wonder about the choices they make. You'll remember your first love. You'll smell the ocean breeze as you read.

I know you'll love this book.
Definitely add Slightly South of Simple to your reading list soon.

You can visit Kristy at My Design ChicKristy Woodson Harvey, or Facebook.
Loved this YouTube video interview with Kristy.
Her books are available at your favorite book stores now and would make great Mother's Day gifts. :)

The quote you chose, is hardsale. Really good. Even though not a southerner myself, it seems literature quality alone, is a book worth checking out!

Good afternoon Stacey, I love a good read and especially when it is about somewhere I have visited. My daughter lived in Atlanta about 5 years and I'm sure she took me to a place called Peachtree. It certainly sounds familiar.
Thank you for the recommendation. I will see if I can buy the book here in England.
Have a lovely weekend.
Best Wishes
Daphne

Katie (Preppy Empty Nester) has spoken about her for ages and I've never read one of her books. But They are on my "someday" list, so hopefully if I win your drawing, "someday" will be soon! What a generous offer. No matter who wins, thank her!

I would like to read this book. Beautiful young author. Sounds perfect for my beach trip in June. If I want to be on the beach it has to be a real book. No coverage on cell phones.

Stacey, the house is coming along beautifully. I love all your design choices. For some folks building or remodeling is stressful, but I've always loved the process. The book sounds like a wonderful summer read. I'm starting to collect my list for this summer. I'm a "never without a book" kind of gal. Thanks for the recommendation.
