Friday Favorites

Good morning!
Thank goodness it's Friday. Right? We love the weekends. Right now the weekends are mostly work days for us. We have lots of running around to do for the new house. Also, we are working on the "grounds". I say that very lightly because it's a mess of Mesquite trees that we are trimming and cutting down.  I thought I'd share some Friday Favorites today because it's always fun to me to read the favorites that others share.

One Room Challenge

The One Room Challenge has kicked off and although I won't be participating like in the past, I'll be watching these ladies closely.  Andrea at Opulent Cottage is redoing a bedroom and she's got more talent in her pinky than I have anywhere!  Coco at The Crowned Goat is also redoing her bedroom. She rallies her family and friends for her projects and the results are always amazing!  Remember her First Friday Home Tour feature?

Robin's Egg Blue

I'm obsessing on all things turquoise or "robin's egg blue" as I lovingly call that category. This has led to me spending hours upon hours studying paint colors and home accessories at House of Turquoise.  My love of this color first started back in Oklahoma when I loved it but was too chicken to add it in. Slowly but surely it's happening and by the time I really get there, the color will probably be totally yesterday's news. No worries! I'm old enough to love what I love. :)

Getting in Shape

This funny post had me smiling this week. Getting in shape and pretty decor all rolled into one.

Light Fixtures

I've been ordering light fixtures for the new house and currently have 4 stashed here. These two have arrived most recently and I love them. I hope...you never know until they are hanging.

This beaded chandy was ordered from World Market. It's really cool and quite different from anything we've ever had. We like it!

This one also arrived for the dining room. The one I originally chose isn't available now and there are no guarantees it will come before we move in. This one is so perfectly and tightly packaged that we decided not to unpack it. Fingers crossed on this.

Instagram

Love this method of stalking others. Can't get enough of:

That's all for now. Do you have Friday Favorites to share? Tell me in the comments.

Have a great weekend!

Love your new light fixtures!! My Friday favorite is....drumroll, please....the fact that it's FRIDAY and I can sleep in tomorrow!!! Not that I ever do, but at least I don't set an alarm, and that in itself is such a nice feeling! Enjoy the weekend, my sweet friend!

I am redong the entire lower level of the house. Because I spent so much time down there when my husband was ill, I found that, after he had passed away, I couldn't even go down there, and it is one of the lightest and brightest parts of the house. I decided to change the entire thing to a Bohemian hideaway and I am having a ball. I've been looking at light fixtures, and love that beaded one from World Market. I can't wait to see it in place in your home. Have fun!

I love turquoise and robin's egg blue also but usually put it under Aqua in my mind! I just love all shades of it. Where are you using it in your new home? Love the new lighting. The beaded one is so different. I would love to see it lit up.

Stacey, I love your lighting choices! I love turquoise so well that my walls in the master and window treatments are a beautiful shade of turquoise. Do what you love and you won't regret it.

Stacey, I am loving seeing your home go up so quickly. The new lights are darling! Yes, that first one is so unique. I am not familiar with any of the 3 Instagram accounts you mentioned. I'll have to check them out.

Oh, forgot to mention that I use to visit House of turquoise often. Had forgotten about it. I love that color as well. She once featured my turquoise island. Woot Woot! That was fun.

Swooning over that beaded chandy! Thank you for the sweet compliment :) I hope I don't end up disappointing everyone, I was a hot mess of indecision this past weekend but I *think* I'm finally over the hump, ready to get some paint on the walls and some fabric ordered. Some of my original picks were backordered and discontinued, to I know how you feel!

Thank you kindly sweet friend :) All the chandeliers are gorgeous and I am so excited to see the house take shape over the next few months! All the fun and none of the headaches for me ;) Almost seems unfair. I'm following the links, it's always fun to have some posts curated by friends. I just know I'll like them!
