I couldn't let this year end without a look back at some of the blessings of this blog. Blogging can be a lone wolf kind of activity with all the time that is spent behind the computer screen. I'm definitely not a loner type of girl though so I think you'll quickly see what my favorite parts of blogging are.
The picture above was from back at the beginning of the year. We had a blogger's luncheon where several of us from the Dallas metro area gathered. It was so much fun to spend time with these girls in person! These are nice people. The kind of girls you want to have coffee with, the kind of girls who would bring you a casserole when you are sick, the kind of girls who know how to welcome you into their homes through the pages of their blogs.
In the spring we had a make and take blogger luncheon at Jemma's house. This day could not have been more fun! KariAnne was in town so she spent the day with us. The time was filled with crafts, laughing, encouragement, and just plain fun!
Good morning! I have such a treat for you with this month's First Friday Home Tour.
Today I'm welcoming Sonja whose home I spotted on Instagram. Sonja's Instagram feed is the kind that makes you stop in your tracks and stare!! Her gorgeous home caught my eye quickly because it is the perfect Craftsman style cottage loaded with beautiful details.
Sonya and her husband, Ronnie, were high school sweethearts and have been married for 27 years. They studied and planned before building this house in 2012. It is meant to be their forever home with careful thought given to what might be needed as time passes.
When you enter in the house you immediately see beautiful woodwork along the walls and the ceiling too. This was all completed by Sonja and Ronnie. They are true DIYers who enjoy design, planning, and construction. This is not the first project for this ambitious couple!
Sonja chose all the lighting from Rejuvenation. I love the schoolhouse style lights mixed with the Craftsman style woodwork. Perfect, don't you think?
This room just makes me swoon!
The monogram on the chair and that plate rack with the Spode Woodland collection is amazing!
Sonja is a fabulous decorator. I believe she has the found the perfect balance of space and furnishings to make the house feel cozy yet open and comfortable. Don't you love the soft colors? This master bedroom seems so restful and inviting.
This house is all about the details...
I spy beadboard in the shelves and look at the chunky pulls and knobs on the Shaker cabinets. Perfect!
Didn't mean to drop off the scene but then again it happens to me every year!
I love every single bit of Christmas but I'm not as speedy and with it as some.
Things are far from perfect here and that's ok.
Christmas is for J O Y!
I'm taking my time, digging through boxes, and bringing out little bits of Christmas here and there. We are ordering pizza and watching Gilmore Girls. We are staring at the twinkle lights and marveling at the ornaments that our kids made when they were tiny. No perfection...just joy.
I'll be back soon with pictures of our imperfect Christmas
Please visit tomorrow for an absolutely amazing First Friday Home Tour. :)
