A Sweet Medley Tunic Makes Me Smile

Hi Friends!
I'm back again sharing another fun tunic from Glamour Farms.
This tunic is called Sweet Medley. I love the colors in this one for this time of year.
The colors are deep brown and turquoise with hints of rust.
You can see the lace details on the front which allow the color on my tank top to peek through.
This tunic is really a favorite because the fit is not billowy as tunics sometimes can be.

I paired the tunic with the Ahh-Mazing Basic Ankle Leggings in Black
I love the Glamour Farms leggings!
They have the best waist band which smooths your body and stays put.

It's still 90+ degrees here but in a few weeks I'll be wearing the Sweet Medley Tunic with boots and a jacket.  It's versatile and so cute!

Several other fun items have caught my eye at Glamour Farms.
The color of this tunic is gorgeous!

This cami style shaper would go with almost everything. I have one of their shapers and it's
wonderful! Not too squeezy - just right.

The Canyon Sunset cardigan would be so easy to slip on and off  this fall and adds a dash of pizzazz to jeans.  The name alone makes me want it.

Since olive is apparently the color for fall, these skinny jeans might have to come to mama. These are also available in curvy sizes.

I want to thank Glamour Farms for giving me the opportunity to share fashion with you.
This is a family operated business and they want to make us happy.
Please give them a try when you are shopping this fall. :)

Gardening and the Important Pause

When our boys were little, I vividly remember us spotting a huge moth on our patio.
It was the biggest I had ever seen!

The moth rested on our wall almost all day and we were enthralled. We learned that it was a hummingbird moth. Fast forward over the years and we've seen several. In fact,
I saw one or two a couple of weeks ago buzzing around our hyacinth bean vine.

Last week I went out one morning and spotted a pot of Pentas being decimated right before my eyes. The culprits were a bunch of caterpillars that you can see here. My initial reaction was anger but that's where the pause came in. You see, I'm not using insecticides much at all so my curiosity was piqued as to whether or not this was a friend or foe.

There was a flurry of text messages to my butterfly group friends and research on the internet. My friend's landscape architect was at her house at the time and they came over to see. #wearenerds
We all agreed these are most likely Sphynx Moth Caterpillars which people often despise because they eat so much.  But guess what they morph into?

Hummingird moths or Sphynx moths.
I had no idea they were the same or very closely related.
These moths are pollinators - we need them in our world!

I suppose if I were the type of gardener growing plants for my own sustenance, I might not appreciate this caterpillar at all. But knowing that some little boys and girls might later have the chance to watch or chase a hummingbird moth is pretty neat to me. I'll sacrifice this plant for that possibility.

What do you think...would you have grabbed your pesticides? I hope not.
If we pause and learn we might save something important.
Here's  a wonderful video of hummingbird moths. :)

Shout Out Saturday

Hey y'all, it's been awhile since I've done a Shout Out Saturday so I thought I'd pop in here today and share a few.   The seasons seem to be changing for many of you.

I guess it really is here in Texas too but it's subtle.

Really subtle.

It's definitely just about time to celebrate fall in all its glory so I'm showing you a few of the posts shared at Thoughts of Home and a few of my oldies that give a nod to fall.

In the fall we all turn our thoughts to apple recipes.
This recipe was shared at TOHOT and it looks yummy!

Fall banners are always popular and Manuela at A Cultivated Nest shared a round up with lots of cute options.

One of my favorite things about fall weather is definitely the fashion!
That took some research and I see several boots on there that look like winners.

Last year I shared Seven Fall Gardening Tasks. I wrote that post in October which was perfect timing for us but I realize it was a little late for some of you. Here's that info if you would like to take a peek.

One more thing...

Have a wonderful weekend. Come back Monday for a really great
Pillow Giveaway!!

Our hostess this week is Stacey from Poofing the Pillows.

These were a hit at home!!
As this summer season ends,  Autumn inspiration is already rolling out in magazines and on blogs.
Who's ready for pot roast and cute sweaters?
Bet you'll find some great fall ideas here this week to spark your energy and creativity.
Last week we had 329 beautiful posts linked together. To say that we are amazed and grateful is an understatement. We really do appreciate that you join us each week.
Now let's see the beautiful features.

At Estelle's, Betsy whipped up an amazing Autumn Brunch for her family. The menu sounds delicious and the food is mouthwatering.  The sweet part is this is for her family. What a blessing!

Sara at Twelve on Main loves gorgeous farmhouse style decorating.
She shared her ideas for decorating with scales last week.
This post makes me want to go to the flea market and find some for myself.

At Garden Therapy, Stephanie shared her 10 favorite plants to choose for wonderful fragrance.
I'm keeping this list handy for next spring.

Diane at An Extraordinary Day showed us how to completely change the look of a lamp by covering the lampshade. It's the little things like this that make a home look personalized and stretch your decorating dollars.

And last but not least, Brett from This Mama Loves created a Coffee Glazed Coffee Cake that is a winner for sure. I can imagine this being served to friends and family this fall or during the holidays.

Sweet P Mini Peach Pies

prep time: 15 MINScook time: 30 MINStotal time: 45 mins
Miniature peach pies with crumble topping made in muffin tins.

  • 3 ripe but firm peaches diced
  • 2 Pillsbury pie crusts
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 flour
  • 1/2 cup long cooking or quick oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup softened butter

  1. Dice peaches into tiny bits. Be sure to choose firm but ripe peaches. Add in 2 tablespoons melted butter and stir. Set aside.
  2. Prepare muffin tins by spraying with Pam.
  3. Cut circles from pie crust. I used a 4 1/2 inch bowl for mine. Put one small crust in each muffin tin.
  4. Add about 3 tablespoons peaches to each muffin tin.
  5. Make crumble topping using last 5 ingredients. Sprinkle a couple of tablespoons topping on each mini pie.
  6. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Let cool for about 20 minutes before removing from pans. Enjoy!

I Love Glamour Farms!

Stepping far and wide out of my comfort zone to share clothes with y'all today!
Why would I do this? I had the absolute pleasure of meeting the family behind
Glamour Farms Boutique at the Haven Conference and they are wonderful!
I'm sure you've seen Cyndi Spivey and Rhoda Montgomery sharing clothes from
Glamour Farms. I was so thrilled to see this clothing at the conference because I've liked everything I've seen the others sharing.  The family behind Glamour Farms believes passionately that women of all shapes and sizes are beautiful. They are designing and manufacturing clothing here in the USA for us to wear and love.

This tunic is called the Arbor Grove Tunic Dress and I'm wearing the small.
This adorable dress is floral on the front with stripes on the back. I love the fun mix!
I've paired the tunic with the Ahh-Mazing Tummy Tuck Ankle Legging in Ink which is deep navy.
Clothing that can span multiple seasons is always a favorite of mine and this tunic definitely does that. Above I've chosen sandals to go with the outfit but below you can see that tossing on a denim jacket and adding boots will take this into cooler weather.
You can't see it but I'm wearing the Ahh-mazing Tank Long Shaper in Sandstone. This thing is wonderful because it makes me feel put together but not squeezed.

Next I'm showing you the Something's Gotta Give tunic in black/multi.
I'm wearing a small. As soon as I saw this at the conference I knew it had to come home with me!
This top is fabulous with skinny jeans or with the
Ahh-mazing  Basic Crop Leggings Leggings in black.
This is so cute right now with sandals and I can just imagine it in a few weeks with booties.
