Blogging Really is About Friendship

I couldn't let this year end without a look back at some of the blessings of this blog. Blogging can be a lone wolf kind of activity with all the time that is spent behind the computer screen. I'm definitely not a loner type of girl though so I think you'll quickly see what my favorite parts of blogging are.
Pictured left to right:
Kitty of Kitty's Kozy Kitchen, me, Eilis of My Heart Lives Here, Carol of Bluesky Kitchen
Laura of Decor to Adore and her daughter, Lisa of Hospitable Pursuits, Sharon of Sharon Joyce Interiors, Leslie of Brookhollow Lane, and Celestina of Southern DayDreams.

The picture above was from back at the beginning of the year. We had a blogger's luncheon where several of us from the Dallas metro area gathered. It was so much fun to spend time with these girls in person! These are nice people. The kind of girls you want to have coffee with, the kind of girls who would bring you a casserole when you are sick, the kind of girls who know how to welcome you into their homes through the pages of their blogs.
In the spring we had a make and take blogger luncheon at Jemma's house. This day could not have been more fun! KariAnne was in town so she spent the day with us. The time was filled with crafts, laughing, encouragement, and just plain fun!

Jemma
Then this summer, Jemma and I made our way to the Haven Conference. I'm just going to tell you that we laughed so hard so many times that I was doing the teetee walk around Atlanta!
You understand, right?
This past year I've also spent time with Andrea of Opulent Cottage who is the one of the most vibrant people you could ever meet. Her cottage is too cute to be true.
Eilis, Jemma, and I are all in book club together, along with some other friends, because we live in the same town! Talk about a blessing. I love these girls.
In November, my MIL and I met Katie of Let's Add Sprinkles, Eilis, and Laura for lunch at the Decorator's Warehouse in Arlington. Laura where are you in this picture? Maybe you were taking it?
Somewhere in the year there was also a cooking class taught by professional chef,
 Carol of Bluesky Kitchen.
And Eilis hosted us for a Christmas gathering but I don't have pictures.
So you see...behind the scenes there are real people sharing real lives together.
I blogged for a long time before actually meeting anybody in person.
I'm so glad to know these people now.
There's another kind of look back coming in a few days.
Thank you so much for reading this little blog of mine. I appreciate each and every one of you who read and leave comments. This is just a place to talk about home and a love of life.
I'm glad you are here. :)

Stacey, how wonderful that you have had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful bloggy friends. I know a few of the ladies via their blogs and I have found Celestina to be a lovely, warm person.
I have not had the opportunity to meet my blog friends, but you never know, maybe one day.
Enjoy the rest of your day.
Best Wishes
Daphne

Stacey, hoping your Christmas was joy-filled! What sweet times you have had...there aren't any bloggers in my city that I know of. But I have traveled to Birmingham and had some fun times with friends! Happy Tuesday!

How absolutely wonderful! That's one HUGE advantage to living in a HUGE metro area. I didn't realize all you gals have established those friendships, but I love it. I have 'met' most of you through blogging, but there are still a few within this post whom I do not know. Note to self: meet a few more of these gals in 2017. Thanks for sharing Stacey, and I'm so happy to have gotten to know you this year.

Totally agree. Its about friendships. Women are social creatures and this is a fun way to connect...from many parts if the country or a city. 😊 Looking forward to more fun and fellowship in the new year! Sheila

You are so right, Stacey. I am so happy that Sara and I got to meet you and Jemma at Haven last summer. It seemed like we had known each other forever!

You couldn't be more on target, Stacey. The friendships I have made through blogging are very real ones, not just virtual and the 'in person' opportunities are truly golden.

Speaking of which, I'll be in Dallas in January for Rick's mom's 80th, if you are free! It would be fun to meet you and Jemma and the other TOHOT gang who is there! Let's touch base on dates!

Meanwhile, Happy New Year -- thank you for introducing me to all the good things I've discovered right here! Onward to what I know will be an exciting year for you!

Isn't the connection we can have amazing? I remember when the internet was new and there were warnings about talking to strangers online. Well, kids should still be careful, but there are also some wonderful people we would never otherwise meet who share our interests and ideas. I love that! Even though we have never met, I consider you a friend. I'm so glad we met here on this big old interweb! lol. Have a wonderful New Year Stacey. I look forward to lots more posts in 2017 :)
