There Are Days That You Need to Have a Giveaway!

There are days when you wake up and the house is a mess and you really want to do a blog post
but you don't have time to clean up the messes because you are going to meet some friends and do fun things but there are clods of dirt everywhere from the pond you are building in your backyard.

So you straighten things up just a tiny little bit and move pond equipment out of the way because it's sitting in the kitchen and might show in the pictures and then you shower and put on your skinny jeans and cuss about the 5 7 pounds you need to lose then you take some pictures really quickly because the morning light is nice and you pray that you can crop the clods of dirt out of the pictures.

Then later you look at the pictures and thank heavens for the ability to crop some things out view and you are so incredibly thankful for sweet girlfriends who help you move furniture around and sweet blog friends who encourage you to paint perfectly nice pieces of furniture that aren't making you happy anymore because once a cloverleaf table is painted white the shape stands out and the whole room is prettier like a girl who whitens her teeth.

Then you have a cup of afternoon coffee and realize you'll never be a rich and famous blogger because curating photos and being all perfect just takes too much time and there's a dropcloth in the picture but maybe if you give away a subscription to The Cottage Journal your sweet blog friends will ignore it.

The End.

Did you get all of that?

Leave a comment here or email me at stacey@poofingthepillows and I'll draw for
The Cottage Journal next Monday. :)

You have no idea of how much of my life there is a drop cloth on the dining room floor. It is almost a permanent piece of the décor! Because life is life, and projects are always in progress! I hope you enjoyed your outing! Blessings, Cindy xo

Stacy, I do love your pictures.
We are in the same boat; I wish I could have more time to spend for my blog but time flys and the hours I spend in office don't help!
Have a nice day

What a lovely shape to that table and you did a very nice job painting it.

Cropping and editing our photos is all part of blogging. Seeing a drop cloth in your photo lets us know you've been hard at work.

Your home always looks lovely and inspires me to work on mine.

Have a great day ~ FlowerLady

I feel your pain sister! Lately my dog Sadie insists on being in every picture! (Even when I think she isn't!) Your table is absolutely lovely! You are right - it brightens your whole room. And don't worry, no one notices the extra pounds and before long the dirt clods will be a thing of the past!

Your cloverleaf table is so pretty ad really does stand out well between your dark chairs! My rooms are often filled with grandchildren's toys--serious cropping must be done if I was to show the rooms in my house...lol!

I have been debating whether or not to paint a small table I rescued from many years of abuse in my daughter's room. Your picture has sold on the idea! I plan to stop and get supplies this afternoon. The magazine offer is great, but I just wanted to thank you for inspiring this old girl to try some new tricks!

I could not love this post more! One of my favorite cartoons I saw long ago was two panels. One was blogger with a mess on her table and a nice arrangement/vignette. She looked a little harried. It was "What it is." The other panel was "What you See" and it was the beautifully arranged whatever! And I thought, "this is the story of my blogging life," which is why I'll never be a perfect blogger.

And I'm OK with that -- you're already MILES ahead of me!

What a lovely idea for a giveaway! Count me in!

I love your cloverleaf table! It looks great! I have days like that all.the.time. :) Sometimes my bed is piled high with all the stuff I moved out of another room so I could take a "pretty" pic. Hee hee! I'm about to have a cup of afternoon coffee now too. I bought the "Houston Blend" at HEB and the grounds have real coconut flakes in it. Yum! Wish you could join me. :)

Sounds alot like one of my days! seems like there is an order of things we have to do before we can get a blog post in........ that's me anyway. Love your white table.. I love white furniture but it always seems like such a daunting task.. I've painted a few small things though. Am new to your blog and really enjoying it. Marilyn

You are the cutest! I love your post! No worries, Nobody is perfect!! and we are all in the same boat!! I always have paintbrushes lying around my kitchen counter or sink! And the dirt is a good reminder of your fabulous pond in progress!
I love how the table came out. It surely brightens that space!

Haha, I hear you! It's a lot of work to make blog pictures look good. The table is so cute and even with the drop cloth (might not have noticed if you hadn't said anything) your house looks so inviting and pretty. And I want to know...dirt clods aren't normal accessories?
Hugs,
Cecilia

Stacey,
Don't give up on the dream...one day you will be a rich and famous blogger. Yes, I relate. Today was a beautiful day for taking photos that I need to take for a post, but there were too many other things to do instead. Okay, I'll take photos tomorrow and the post will be a day later. So much for me being a rich and famous blogger.

Reading The Cottage Journal would be a great way to spend the time instead of editing photos.

Oh, Stacey, you're so cute! The table is so sweet.....light, bright and adds a bit of feminine softness to the space. OK, you will laugh -- I thought the drop cloth was your pooch lounging on the floor! See how much you can slip past aging Baby Boomers!

Warm hugs,
Carol
