If Money Grew on Trees

My friend Eilis and I were talking the other day about how we have our houses just the way we want them. But give it a day or two and we agreed that something will become extremely necessary.
Are you the same way?
We shouldn't be that way but we are. It doesn't make you a bad person!

So if money were no object what would I get?  I'm talking about only home things, by the way.

Two of these lights to go above my kitchen island, please.

I just love a pretty mirror so if you twisted my arm,
this mirror from Ballard Designs might finally be the item that makes me
love my entry way. Mercy though, it's too expensive. I'll look somewhere else for mine.

My desk chair is killing my back these days and it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm sitting too much.  So to cure this problem I'd choose this chair from Pottery Barn.
Remember...money grows on trees in this dream. :)

That's all. Nothing else. Unless the tree was huge! :)

What would you choose?
No judgement - this is just for fun.

Hi Stacey, what a fun post. Yes, if money was unlimited there would be areas of my home I would be adding to, updating and changing. But the fun part has been to get the look without the price tag. But it sure is wonderful to dream and I would and hopefully will in time, get new windows in my house!! xo

Hmmm, new rugs, a new bed frame and maybe even a new (gasp!) mattress. Different love seat that I didn't need to recover ;) I'm afraid my list is a bit longer. It's fun to dream though isn't it? Then I usually turn around and either make it myself or start scanning the side of the road. Lol Love that chandelier and the mirror!

I have an ongoing list for my house, next is having the front door refinished, then new lights for the outside entry. After those are done shutters for a couple more rooms, then new carpet for bedrooms! By the time those are all done (year or 2) I will have added to the list and could revise at any time! Lol

New window treatments for the entire house!

I need a new desk chair, too! I sit so much more lately and my extra kitchen dining chair is not really appropriate. Or comfortable! ps. Cupola Ridge is one of my favorites! SO gorgeous!

I'd choose to have some irises blooming, LOL. Saw your comment and since it was below zero here yesterday I was just amazed !! :)

Love the post. I would get a new bedroom set. We have had ours since we got married and the chest is falling apart. The dresser is doing it now too and we have nailed them up so many times. The bed is not that old, but I keep getting my feet caught in the foot board at night.

Love your choices.

If money were no object for my home I would build onto the back of our house a huge screened in porch, move the fireplace to a different wall, put in skylights, have french doors the length of the back of the house and get new kitchen cabinets. I'd also dream to have a huge Wolf gas stove and oven. ugh, that's just too much, haha.

Since we're only just dreaming, and it is ok to share, right?
Everything else is pretty much how I love it, so just really big things now.

I think for now we're just getting quotes on getting a new kitchen island that works for us a little bit better. : - )

Oh goodness..all new furniture for the living room. In the Master bedroom a new bed and night stands and a closet make over. New chairs for the dining room table....if only money grew on trees. :)

All good choices, my friend! That light makes me swoon too, so that might be on my list as well. And a sunroom added on to my house. :)

Hmmmm...it would be so nice to not look at price tags! I'm such my mother's daughter, and always check the price first. I guess no matter what, I could never break that habit. I would buy some beds for a guest room, beautiful bedding, and fabulous accessories, and a great rug. I'd buy myself a new swivel, glider chair, too! Yessiree, I could have some fun!

Since you asked... I'd love to update the chandelier over the dining table... (You'll never find a picture of the current one on my blog!!)

It is fun to dream. Putting a total kitchen rodeo on that "if" list. Loved some of your ideas like that chair. A girl can always Dream. Great post, Stacy

Since I live in an apt and a small space, I'd love to replace or add to my love seat, add a feminine style recliner (one that looks like a normal chair), new mattress, window treatments and rugs! I love to blue sky things so thanks for the fun post! :)

I love your choices! It would be wonderful to be able to just get anything you wanted whenever you wanted huh? That's a great dream! I think I would love to be able to pick up a phone and hire people to do the things that we have to do ourselves. That would be amazing! I would definitely have a cleaning service too. Why clean toilets when you don't have to? I would love to have a fabulous firepit in my back yard and nice furniture for my deck and some outdoor lighting for our house. You know like the big fancy houses have? Ok, I'm getting totally carried away with this dream. Now, I'm depressed. There is no money tree is there? Ha!

Hmmmm, money growing on trees. First, I would plant many of those trees in my back yard! :-) Then, I would pluck the dollars off and head to Birmingham to a furniture store I found over the holidays. I fell in love with a bed they had...to the tune of over $1,000 for the bed and another $2,000 for the bedding accessories. Then, I would drive back to Nashville to the lighting store and replace every single light fixture in my house! Then, completely redo the kitchen...this was just for fun, right??!! LOL Hugs!!

How fun. I'd have the popcorn scraped off of the game room ceiling. It's the last one and I"m dreading it.
I hope you have a great week.

well, i really.....................REALLY...........want that mirror. I've looked at it in their catalog now for I don't know how long and I want it to go on sale 90% off and when it does, I'll buy mine and buy you one, too...and they can ship it to your pretty house.

Since I buy and sell vintage and farmhouse wares, I sometimes keep things that I planned on selling. But I'll often sell something of my own that has lost its appeal so I don't end up a hoarder. I'm happy with everything but I DO keep switching things in and out!

That light is just tooooooo cute! I love dreaming this way too. In my dreams, I would fix up a farmhouse and fill it with fabulous antiques. That would take a forest of money trees. :) Thanks for sharing at Your Inspired Design!
