One Room Challenge: Guest Room Complete

For me this process involved completing and fluffing one of our guest rooms.

Thankfully all of the major components were already present in this room.
My husband and I made the headboard a couple of years ago in what we thought would be an afternoon project. For us those things are always a few days though. :)

I added new accessories, shuffled lamps, framed some beautiful wrapping paper,
and put out a tray of water bottles and snacks.

I also made sure to provide some pretty magazines that were picked
specifically to match the decor.  No worries I'll add some others later.

There's a new chair in here along with a throw that has the cutest pom poms.
I also brought out this wall cabinet that is like an old friend to me.
Back in about 1992 when we were knee deep in diapers,
I put the cabinet on lay away and paid it out.
Do you remember lay away?
The cabinet did have bugs painted all over it but this week I gave it a quick coat of white chalk paint.

This was all so much fun!

It's precious! You found so many sweet things in that wonderful shade of blue. It really pulls it all together. You're going to have a hard time getting your guests to leave.;-)

What a lovely and welcoming space! Great job in creating a restful retreat.

May I inquire where you found the pom pom blanket. I've been looking for one for our bedroom.

That room is magazine ready! So pretty and feminine Stacey. I've always wanted to make a headboard, but it just never worked out. You both did a great job (and I know what you mean about projects taking longer than expected...they ALWAYS do).

I love, love, LOVE this room - it's completely adorable and so comfy!! Where did you get the cute throw with the pom poms? I have a super cute guest room in my new house but it has zero going on for decor yet....nothing on the walls, no character. Yet. I'm still working on the rest of the naked walls!!

Wow...you have so many good ideas here, Stacey...I'd let you come over and make over a room for me anytime! I love how you frame the wrapping paper-I'm determined to do something like that soon. The cabinet is so pretty. I DO remember layaway. I remember putting a winter coat on layaway and it was freezing by the time I had paid for it in full! lol!

Your pillows are gorgeous. Rachel Ashwell? I also love the pretty water bottles. I need ideas for the lake and you have given me a lot of inspiration.

Have a wonderful weekend!!

So welcoming!

My guest room us usually perfect and we have no guests coming. Today, it is a disaster with my sewing machine, ironing board and a ton of Christmas projects. My cousin hasn't confirmed if she is coming for Thanksgiving or not, but I still need to get it back in order.

Stacey, thank you for sharing your beautiful guest room at Your Inspired Design Link Party #11. It's great to have another Texas girl at the Party.

I love it! I would love to do this one room challenge sometime. I am in the middle of a fix in our living room. Hopefully it will be done in time for Christmas. Mostly just new furniture, as our home is only 2 years old and I still love the paint! BTW, I am super excited about doing a Christmas recipe post. Keep me in mind.
