Transitional Fall Mantel

This was the day!
The day that waking up to coolness and stars in the sky at 6:30 made me realize Fall is coming.

The day that Michael Buble' and a cup of coffee make for a  little slice of heaven.

fall mantel, plates on the mantel, art on the mantel

The day that I can really tell the sun is moving in the sky and the shadows are changing.

And on this day, the pumpkin spice candle is burning and I'm rearranging with
a few old  favorites on the mantel.

On this day that is a little bit summer and a little bit fall,
we are making our first pot of chili.

How about you?

Stacy,

Love the simplicity of your mantle. Yes I can tell autumn is in the air a little here too! It is so nice waking up to cooler temps in the morning.

My first pot of soup is being made tomorrow - homemade vegetable beef soup, can't wait!

Coffee, Michael Buble', and a pot of chili? I'll be right over.

Your autumn mantel looks lovely and I love that painting... :)

I made my chili the other day and posted it on my most recent blog post. I did go to Hobby Lobby and picked up some stuff to make my fall wreath. Autumn is officially 7 days away!!

Your mantel looks wonderful.

I always notice the light coming in differently in our house each year. It is a sure sign of fall.
I love your decor. It all looks so pretty!

Your mantel looks lovely and I see that you are a Mary Carol Garrity fan too. We had a couple of days of cooler weather with lower humidity, but the heat and the rain have moved back in. Despite that, I did make a pot of turkey chili recently. We eat chili year 'round in Texas ;-)

Love your Fall mantel, love Michael Buble and love how perfectly you put it, "a little bit of summer, a little bit of Fall". That is what we have here and it is just enough to get me thinking about decorating for Fall. I haven't brought my pumpkins out yet, but I planted some mums today!

Fall was in the air at the beginning of the week here on the MS Gulf Coast, but that nasty old humidity decided to come back for another long visit. Your mantel is looking lovely. I have been playing with mine as well and think I have it just the way I want it...for the time being that is! I am now following Poofing the Pillows and looking forward to looking at more posts.

Life is good! Love that you listen to music in the morning (and that you get up that early...not me at all!).

Your mantel is perfect---I think most of us...ahem, can I say this? are getting a little more back into nature and away from the overblown, Marshalls, TJ Maxx in-your-face- stuff. Bravo!

Today is that same kind of day here, Stacey! I am hoping for cooler temperatures, because I have my candles ready, my pumpkins on standby. I love your mantel, it's how I decorate in my home, with natural things as much as possible. Your stack of books? I have all those and love looking at them for inspiration again and again. Happy fall friend!

Hi Stacey, Love your transitional mantel. Mary Carol Garrity is one of my favs and I have the same books. The plate and the pumpkin topped on the hydrangea is beautiful! Nothing like the first pot of chili to usher in the new season. Sounds so good.

Roasting a chicken! That's right! On sale at the store and cool enough to have the oven on for a few hours ! :)
It has been getting quite warm in the late afternoons...the rest of the days have been very comfortable.

Your mantel looks just right for this time of year :)

Your mantel looks lovely! I'm still not in the mood for fall decorating, maybe this weekend. I did redo my chalkboards for fall yesterday.

I love the warm colors you have used for the mantle. It's still not quite cool enough for chili here yet, but I agree, Autumn is in the air and the shadows and light are different. I love it!

Stacy, I love your simple fall favorites on your mantel. I'll have to admit that mine is more simple right at the moment-it's BARE! Hard to admit it, but I'm actually enjoying it for the time being. There is something special about that first pot of chili in the fall, isn't there?

We've been having chilly mornings and nights too. So, chili sounds great! I love this time of year when it's in transition. It's sort of exciting. October is my favorite month of the year (which is coming up). Your mantel looks so pretty right now.
