Summer to Fall Door Decor

Happy September Friends!

September is a special month.
The air is gentler.
The light is softer.
And the heat begins to subside here in Texas.

monogrammed door basket

This September is extra special for us because a significant girl
is coming this weekend to visit for the first time. :)

monogrammed door hanging basket

The front porch needed a little spiffing up and it's definitely not pumpkin time here.
So....I decided to reuse this basket that I've used several times in the past.
This is a recreation of something I saw on Pinterest long ago.
Luckily, all the parts needed were here in my stash so it was easy peasy to put together.

It's a small porch but it's all set to welcome our son and someone he thinks
is pretty wonderful.

What do you think?

It's perfect for this time. Very pretty.

I saw another blogger call it "Fall-mer"... not fall yet but summer sliding in to it :)

I LOVE a pretty monogram like that! Such a nice way to welcome guests. Have fun this weekend! I remember how nervous I was when meeting my hubby parents for the first time. And since they lived in Montana, I didn't meet them until just a few days before the wedding! Lol!

Stacey, I think it is lovely and just the perfect touch. I hope you have a wonderful time.

It is also not 'real pumpkin' time for us. Learned my lesson about that some years ago. What a mess....the heat is just too much for those dear things. :-)

Great idea for fall-mer! I found a basket like that at a yardsale for a 1.00 but don't have the monogram, I think one big letter would do, so I'll have to check at Walmart! BTW I think she will think you are quite the decorator!

I love the basket you hung.

I have been looking for a wicker door basket for ages. I finally found one at Cost Plus, but it was almost as big as the door.

Enjoy your son and his someone special.

Are you anywhere near Austin? Steve just signed up for a Paint Out in Austin in early November. We are going to drive so he can transport his plein air easel and paints. I will have the car to drive myself to fun shopping spots and hope you are somewhere near Austin.

I love the basket and the monogram. Our porch will not get much decorating this year, but next year hoping to really do it.
