August in the Front Garden and Some Tunes

Packing our bags for the beach today but I wanted to pop in
and share a few pics of the front flower bed.

It's hard to believe most of this was planted last year.
It's full and lush. We love it!

While you are looking let's talk about music.
I have a song stuck in my head and have been playing it over and over.
Love it!! Makes me want to get some Zumba moves on.

Do you get songs stuck in your head?
Loving Coldplay, "Sky Full of Stars" right now too.

Oh my, just remembered I'll be in the car with my sons for 6 hours tomorrow.
They might force me to change the playlist.
You know how that goes!

Son #1 would choose a little Slash.
Pretty good for singing in the car. :)

Son #2 might choose a little Phantom of the Opera.
And we'll all pretend to be the conductor as we go down the road.

My husband loves the blues and lots of Eric Clapton.
He'll quiz me all about Cream and all those groups Eric Clapton was in before I was born.
It's fun. :)

I'm not quite ready for Summer to end.
Yes, I've seen the painted pumpkins you all are pulling out and I thank you for the inspiration.
But it's hot and steamy here and the beach is calling us!

Hope you are having a wonderful August!!

Your flower garden is amazing. Thanks for sharing the colors! We often have "wars" about the music selection in the car as we travel. Fun!

Oh, I am in love with your morning glories . . . Did you plant them in the spring or fall? I would love having some growing along my new picket fence :)
Have fun at the bench . . . wish I was there, LOL.
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

Wow, that was fast! Glad you got your post up before you left. :) Are those multi colored gomphrenas? Your yard is gorgeous!!! I love the zinnias and lantana. So pretty. Have fun at the beach!

1. Your flowers are beautiful!

2. Steve lets iTunes radio dictate our music these days so I have no idea the name of what is on right now. I love the soundtrack of Chef for upbeat music when I have to clean the house.

3. I am not ready for fall, the beach is too perfect every day. In fact, I am working on a driftwood garland right now when others are posting their Halloween projects!

4. Have fun at the beach!!!

Enjoy the last days of summer Stacey, they are fleeing fast! Love the Coldplay song, I hadn't heard it yet:>) The gardens are in their glory right now aren't they? Yours is so beautiful. Are those Grandpa Ott morning glories?

I'm with you, not ready for fall yet. It is blazing hot here this week. Just got back from 2 weeks at the beach where I went through stacks of magazines that I took and ate pimento cheese sandwiches! Only bad thing was the internet. It was the worst I have ever had in the US. It stayed off more than on!

You are lucky to have young-ens to keep in the loop of hip music. Jazzercise does that for me.

Everything looks beautiful, Stacey! Are those dahlia's near the end of your pictures?

How nice to be taking a family vacation! I get songs stuck in my head all the time. Hubby blasts a 70's, 80's and 90's station from our outdoor speakers and those silly songs stay in my head for days!!

Have a great time!

I'm feeling the call of fall a little earlier than I normally do this year, Stacey, but I am restraining myself from any fall decorating until at least mid September. Your dahlias look beautiful. I was too late this year, but I am planning on getting some seeds next year.

Have a great trip! At least you won't have to listen to Iggy Azalea! If I hear "Fancy" one more time, I might scream:-)

They are very lush and beautiful for sure!. I planted some morning glories and they had to get a big haircut because they decided to jump on top of my rose bush. Finally got some blooms from them...naughty flowers ;)

Enjoy the beach and everything does look lush and happy there ! :)

It's bad enough to see fall things in the retail stores ...fortunately in blogland I can just CLICK and MOVE ON and ignore what is not in season yet..! :)

I hope you are having a wonderful one too! Those morning glories remind me of my mom, she had the same color!

Your husband is quizzer too?! My husband does the same thing. Every time we watch a movie he's always asking me if I remember the other movies the actor has played in, or who sings that song. LOL! Sure keeps me on my toes. Thanks for sharing your garden. Your flowers are so lush and colorful.

This post reminds me of yesterday afternoon. I was in the car with my two oldest daughters and three granddaughters. They had the music to "Frozen" playing and all five of them were singing at the top of their lungs. I loved it! Since I don't have sons, I appreciated hearing what they like to listen to. Hope you have a great, relaxing time at the beach.

Morning Glories just make my heart happy! I used to have some at my other house & hubby threatened revolt when they re-seeded in the flower bed. But, now I have a lot more room & not such floral beds. I might try this again.
