On Our Patio

On our patio we rest with a glass of iced tea.
We take a good look around and call it, "surveying".

We seek the shade and wish for rain.

We think about a new table and chairs but reminisce about the 26 years we've had this set.
We appreciate the flowers that grow in the heat and
cuss about something eating the hibiscus and sweet potato vine.

On our patio, we listen to the locusts and tree frogs.
We let some of the stress fade away.

And we remember that we are blessed to have a beautiful home and each other.

We call our walks around the yard "surveying" also! Too funny! You have a marvelous sitting area; I'll bet you enjoy your relaxing time. Have a super 4th! Jane

We do a lot of "surveying" around here too! Sometimes my hubby will grab a cup of coffee and "walk the grounds" in the morning, checking on all the plants and flowers. :) Your flowers look beautiful and I love, love, love that fireplace!! Have a safe and fun 4th!

We have a screened in porch where we sit and "survey" too...we talk about the kids, watch the bunnies run through the yard, listen to the birds sing and just be...I like out there. Your patio is lovely. Ours is rather new and needs some décor, but when I go out there, I am happy to sit! ;)

Your patio is lovely.

Is it too hot out there during the day?

We have a little spot out near the raised beds where we love to sit and "survey" ;>) I love your patio set! It looks like it has held up really well over so many years. If I found that on craigslist I would think I hit the jackpot! Your patio looks like such a pretty place to be.

Great post, Stacey! I survey every morning. I love to go out while it's still cool and see how things are growing. I get my watering in; and then, I just sit back and admire it all. Your patio looks great!

This is a very nice post, Stacey! Sitting on our deck facing the backyard is relaxing for us. If "something" has nibbled, we know the deer have snacked. :)

I wish I could send you some of our rain. I love rain, but not every day. It seems to have to rain every afternoon/evening just to ruin everyone's plans - like tonight. My daughter was planning an on-the-deck 4th of July dinner party and of course it rained, but only long enough to drench everything. Oh how I wish we could share some of it with you.
I love to sit and listen to the locusts and tree frogs too - my absolute favorite time of summer, but it's still too early here for tree frogs. I love to fall asleep listening to them.

Our patio furniture is almost identical to yours! My cushions (which need replacement) are yellow and orange stripe. Having a hard time finding replacement cushions that are that size.. Have you replaced recently??

Very pretty setting!!!!

Your patio is so very beautiful! So funny about cussing at whatever is eating your vine. Hehehe...I do too much of that! We NEED rain! We had a couple of drops today and that was it. :( I keep doing my rain dance. :) xoxo Jen

I agree!! I am at war with either the squirrels or chimp monks this year for decimating my sweet potato vine not once but three times this year!!!!!! What is up with the critters! I have had the potato vine in my flowers beds for years and they have not bothered them!

Your patio is so pretty, Stacey. I can't believe your patio set is 26 years old. It looks great. I'm looking forward to having an outdoor space again where we can sit and "survey" :). Thanks for sharing yours at Every Room In The House. I'll be featuring it tomorrow when I launch the August party. xxx ~ Nancy

This will be my new go to phrase:

So comforting . . .

Your garden looks so colorful. It has been so hot here that all my flowers are faded if not completely brown. I can't wait for cooler weather, I am looking forward to planting decorative cabbage and kale.
You have the same the patio furniture that my husband and I picked out. We love ours.
