On the Front Porch

The little changes that nobody else will realize sometimes make the biggest difference.
Today we changed the lanterns by our porch and garage.
I don't have a before picture but let's just say that the ones the builder put there might have cost $4.00.

We found these big beauties at Lowes.
I love the metal and the seeded glass.

These are making me smile.
You know what else makes me smile?
The teamwork that my husband and I used to get them up. :)

Next on my list is a new wreath for the front door.
I've already found the prettiest sunflowers.

Have you made changes like this?
Maybe I need to make them too. :)

Thanks for visiting me today.

The lanterns are beautiful and your flowers look pretty, too. Our lanterns have patina and hubby wants to replace them, but they look kind of neat to me. Enjoy your week my friend! Sweet hugs, Diane

Those lanterns are fabulous! I have been looking for a flat sided basket to hang on my door. I love yours.

Beautiful lights. I have often thought that the smallest things can make the biggest difference. Things that maybe others might not be able to put their finger on, but they know something is different, is better. Good choice.

Love your new lanterns, Stacey! I know what you mean about the builder's grade lights. One of the first things we did was switch them out. Love your door decor, too! Your entry looks great!

I have seeded glass in my kitchen and in some of our light fixtures, as well. Love it! We're all about the teamwork, too. Some of the best times we can remember are when we were collaborating on a project together. Do it yourself is really more fun when you're not by yourself! ;)

Everything about your entranceway says "welcome" to all that may be fortunate to enter it. I like your decorating taste!

I just love your front door. Your lanterns are perfect. We had builder lanterns too and I couldn't wait to change them out.

The lanterns are perfect and how great that you were able to install them yourselves.

I know a wreath would look nice on the front door, but I do love the basket that is there now.

Your comment about the $4 lights made me laugh - I can totally relate! Your new ones are gorgeous - perfect for your house!

Oh my goodness! So pretty! I love the glass. We need new lights by the front door. The ones I picked a few years ago are too small. I've just lived with them ... beautiful update!

The new lanterns look great! We've been wanting to replace our builder ones for a long time too. I'm getting to where I love seeded glass in anything. :) I also like how you have the stone/brick combo on your exterior. Very nice! The flowers on your porch are GORGEOUS!!!

Love it ALL, Stacey! You truly know how to make a house a HOME!

You have such a pretty fa├žade, Stacey! I love your outdoor lighting choices. The last time we changed our lighting was when we were getting the house ready to go on the market. It's funny how you wind up doing all this work fixing things up and can fall in love with your house all over again. The lighting here is standard throughout the condo community; everyone has the same fixture and, luckily, they are not bad.

Those lanterns are beautiful and I bet they made a huge difference. They look so good with your front door.

We replaced our craptastic light on our front porch with one almost identical to yours….I love it! (also from Lowe's)

Your porch is so pretty, and I love your containers, too!

Isn't it amazing what lighting can do for a space? Your new lanterns look beautiful! We really should replace ours too...might have to add that to a to-do list for in the fall. (It took me a year to decide on the light over the dining room table...I am not quick in making lighting decisions.)

Sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest impact! The light is very nice looking and I also love the seeded glass. You have the prettiest blog header! Thanks for letting me know you liked my corner kitchen cabinet where I can store some of my vintage dishes!

Great choice for the lanterns, Stacey. I'm lovin' what I can see of the exterior of your house, and now I'm dying to see the whole thing. Love that brick and stone, the arch and the gorgeous front door. It has that old world look I adore. :) I enjoy projects with my hubby, too. We just came back from surveying our new lot so he can draw up a topography map for the excavators. I held the staff as he used the level. It was fun.

Love the new lanterns Stacey! I was just telling my hubby how faded ours were. They are a pretty cute lantern, but are rusted and faded. We either need to paint them or get new ones. It never ends. lol! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

Love your new light fixtures! Your flowers look just beautiful! Thanks so much for stopping by! I am lucky to have a great independent bookstore close by. I am sure you will be able to find one in Dallas. The events are so much fun. Have a great weekend!
