Make Mine Red

Lately it seems that the color red is popping up again in magazines and catalogs.

I've seen it BHG, Pinterest, and Pottery Barn.

To those are seeing red as fresh and new I say, welcome back!

Red is fun, exciting, and pretty.

Maybe too much for some but I love it!

Do you have a color that thrills you more than any other?

Stacey, looks like we're fashionable again! ;)

Yes--I need red at this time of the year when it is often gray outside. For some reason, however, I often like the pale colors for summer--lighter colors and serene cool feeling. So I go back and forth! Right now I am into red. I once had a red room in my old cottage (we have moved and downsized since then). However a Red-walled room was cozy, but after a while it was too much for me and I went back to a paler color. It was the fashion for quite some time to have a red room back then!

I love, love red this time of year too. It just brightens up a room with an unending view of snow outside :-)

You're preaching to the choir on this one Stacey! I have always loved red, just can't seem to stop and I don't want to. I picked up some Fannie Flagg books at the library, love the one I'm in. Thanks for the tip!

I do like the color red. It's very cheerful. When picking out what color mixer I wanted for my kitchen, I almost took the "safe" route with white or light yellow, but I'm so glad I got red! Now I want to get all my Valentine's Day decor out! :)

I did not intentionally mean for red to be an accent color in our living room but I am loving it. It is turning out tone a red, white, and blue room which is fine by me. I love your reds. I think they suit your happy personality!

Gosh, Stacey, I didn't know red EVER went out.....such a classic color.
I have quite a bit of red but not as much as I used to have. It's a happy color but one I can tire of if there's too much. I think it goes with all other colors really well.

Thank you for replying to my questions about blogging, in my comments, today.

Re: No-Reply-Blogger issue... I have tried to fix this. Still not sure if it is fixed.

But I put a click-able link to my email addy, on my Profile Page. And my comments have a click-able link, back to my blog. I hope this takes care of this issue.

I love red in a lot of places, like what I see in your home. But I must be the odd man out...I just can't find a place in my home where I would like it. And I don't even like to wear it!! I know, I'm strange!! Don't hate me!! I've seen the Indigo Blue that Pottery Barn featured in a recent catalog and I really flipped for that. So at least I'm not totally afraid of color! :)

Jane

I love the sparks of red that you have in your home! Red brightens up things in my home in the fall and winter. It makes me happy. In summer, in my flower beds, I love to have a lot of red and zinnia colors. That is a pretty red coleus in photograph.

I am trying to add more red to our dining room. I recently switched to blues and greens in our family room and I really miss the warmth of the red. You use the color so beautifully in your home, especially love your buffalo check curtains!

I love all of your reds! When I was a little girl my mother used to read me a story called Ann Likes Red. I think it makes a statement and love how it just pops in a room.

Have a great weekend Stacey!
