Hello Beautiful!

Now this makes it feel like home to me!

Digging in the dirt.

Transforming what the builders did.

This is my idea of fun.

My old blog friends know how much I love gardening.

You can see some old gardening posts here.

The stinky smell of this dirt just makes me giddy!

Compost...manure....organic material.

I love it!

Here's what it looked like in the front of the house when we moved in 9 months ago.

Let's see how we can transform this over the next few months. :)

Do you like to work in the yard?

There are so many benefits...

Dose of sunshine and vitamin D
Creating something beautiful
Learning new things
Meeting neighbors while you are out working
The list goes on and on...

one or two Poofing the Pillows readers.

Tomorrow we will draw for the winners.

Give Away Time!

I was recently contacted by Heather who has some wonderful pillow covers in her shop on Etsy.

Heather has offered to give away two pillow covers to my Poofing the Pillows friends.

I've chosen some from her Etsy shop, Feather Hen that I wanted you to see.

Aren't they fun?

Heather sent two pillow covers to me to try out.
My husband immediately claimed the one below for his office.

This one below is in my son's room.
It doesn't have a pillow inside yet but you get the idea.

We love them!

Heather personalizes the pillows at your request and she's fast!

With weddings, graduations, and lots of other occasions coming up this spring,
I bet you all will love these.

You can win one pillow cover or two if your name is drawn twice. :)

To win please do this:
Go take a look at Heather's Etsy shop, Feather Hen
and come back to tell your favorite item.
Check her out on Facebook then come back and leave a comment.

You can get two chances to win.

I will draw on Friday.

Thank you Heather for sharing your with us.

Plate Walls: What Do You Think?

Thinking about mix and match plate walls.

Love them!

Our Delightful Dining Room Reveal

I'm calling this room complete. :)

If you've been with me, you know that a few weeks back I realized this dining room
was woefully undecorated and didn't reflect my style very much at all.

With ideas and pictures provided by my blogging friends, this room has been transformed.

Check it out!

Once the ideas were formulated this was a piece of cake.

I bought a few pieces of white dishes and could quickly tell that it would get too cluttery for me very fast.

So I waited for the curtains to arrive...and worked with items I already had.

The white tray was already here but it was green and floral before.
I just painted it.

Do you worry about white, off-white, or cream in a room?
I decided not to worry so we have white and cream.
I think it works well with the reds.

The curtain panels are from Country Curtains and they are perfect!

See my pretty parsons style chairs?

They are my first ever Craig's List purchase.
2 chairs for $110!! They are like new.

I had the sconces and all the transferware already.

Seriously, I stand at the doorway and stare.

I Love This Room!

Thank you so much to all my friends who gave me great ideas.

Friendly Friday

There are so many excellent blogs out there now.

The creativity is boundless!

But there's one you must see and add to your list.

I've known Cynthia at An Accomplished Woman for several years now.

Do you visit her?

Cynthia is all that and a slice of chocolate pie!

Cynthia is a working mom and she can put June Cleaver to shame.

She plans her menus and makes wonderful food.

She decorates her big house beautifully and on a budget - doing almost all the work herself.

Don't you love the colors in her kitchen?

She gardens both flowers and edibles.

Does the thought of entertaining make you break out in a sweat?

She can teach us all a thing or two. :)

She and her daughter planned and executed the most beautiful wedding ever.

I found this statement on her blog,

"My name is Cynthia and I am an Accomplished Woman.
My passion is my Lord, my family and my friends. I use my talents to decorate, cook, bake and crafting. I love my family and love to create a home that shows them how much I care for them. They are the most important thing in the world to me."

Cynthia's family is growing. It now includes one beautiful grandson
and some of the cutest dogs you've ever seen!

And oh - the dogs are known to wear costumes for the holidays.

I could go on and on.

I hope you'll go visit soon and let her know that you've been there.

Her blog is a feast for your eyes and your heart.

Just spent 4 glorious days in the California sunshine with the love of my life.

We are continuing to celebrate 25 years of happy marriage. :)

The sunset at La Jolla.

People from all over the world were stopped in their tracks and taking pictures.

Back to reality now.

Guess what....a large box containing red and cream checks arrived in the mail while we were gone!
