Busy in the Kitchen

Girls you won't believe how crazy I am!

I play in a neighborhood Bunko group and love it.

Well, the gal who was supposed to host this month had the nerve to move to another state. :)

So I opened my mouth and volunteered to have it here.
We all know that hosting an event is the best way to ensure that chores get done. Right?

I've been a busy bee.

Yesterday I started cooking...everybody brings something but the hostess has to be prepared too.

Look at that cute Christmas snack mix.  Recipe found at The Creativity Exchange.

Christmas sweet and salty snack mix was a hit at Bunko.

I thought a Red Velvet Bundt Cake would be pretty and it is!

This recipe found at A Beautiful Mess.

Red Velvet Bundt cake served at Christmas Bunko party. Beautiful and delicious!

A bucket of the same wonderful Snickerdoodles I've been making for years.

A little red sugar added for festiveness.

Snickerdoodle cookies are so easy and so delicious. These come out perfectly every time.

I'm also going to make artichoke dip later today.

Santa Clause Christmas dishes on display in kitchen.

Now, what else do I need to do?

Maybe I should shower.

What are you up to today?

You're making me hungry! I love red velvet cake, and your icing looks divine! Snickerdoodles are one of my favorites too. I've been baking today. I was feeling bad because I haven't made any Christmas cookies yet, so I now have some chocolate pixie dough chilling in the fridge. :) I finally sat down today and made out my Christmas dinner menu. I'm sure my boys will add a few more cookies to the dessert portion. I can't believe how close we are to Christmas. I better get to the grocery store. At least my gift shopping is all done. :)

I haven't played Bunko for years.

You are right, the best way to get things done is to have company scheduled.

I love your Christmas plates. I only have one set of actual Christmas plates and think I need another design.

And today, I am making a tablecloth because the one I ordered from H & M Home ended up being sold out.

Oh that cake looks so yummy!! Have fun!

I making a Christmas favorite cake for Christmas Eve - it's pineapple with a cream cheese frosting and baked in the shape of a Christmas tree. I decorate it with marischino cherries and silver dragees.

Merry Merry!

The snack recipes look great, if fact I went over to The Creativity Exchanged for the first one and you don't even have to bake anything just open and mix and it is so pretty. I too am hosting a holiday party and looking forward to it. Enjoy yours. I think when we open our big mouths and volunteer it is because we really do love it in spite of the work and stress and I know you will impress the socks off your group!

Do you put cream of tartar in your snickerdoodles? Nice touch with the red sugar!

Oh wow! DREAMY CAKE!

Thank you for visiting Stacey! These have been tough months. :( Steve was laid off from Xerox in July and ever since we've just tried to stay focused on the good things in our lives. No one is ill...our home is almost paid for...we have no debt. All wonderful things.

He has secured a wonderful new job. Just got word a few days ago and the background check is underway. As I know more I'll share.

I started working at Serendipity Market 2 afternoons per week and on Saturday. I love meeting the customers and feel blessed by the extra work.

I hope you are loving living in Texas. Merry Christmas to you all with love.

I haven't started baking yet, but may make some cookies tomorrow. I love snickerdoodles too! We're going to my husbands extended family's house for Christmas on Saturday, but I'm taking a store bought key lime pie for that one. Plan on resuming my painting in my sons room on Sunday. That should wrap up that chore!

It all looks so yummy! My husband has made that same comment about the house getting a good cleaning when I have friends over and it is so true. Hope you enjoyed your friends.
