Hi Y'all!

Welcome to our new home in Texas. :)
So many of you have sent messages and emails asking where we are.
That's just so sweet!

We have been here about 90 days. Let me tell you, even though we always knew we would come back to Texas, this has been a
h a r d 90 days.
When you move away from your family - like when we moved to Oklahoma 23 years ago -  you make your friends your family.
We miss our friends so much!
So I thought I would give you a little look at where we live now. Each and every day is filled with trying to make this house a home.
I've seen signs that say, "Home Is Where You Are"....well we aren't all here.
Our oldest son is in Edmond finishing college.
It's hard friends!! I miss my baby boys.
I miss familiar sights and routines.
I miss my school where the world's best teachers and students are.

Enough whining. We are very blessed and I know that.

I do love this house.  It's very different from our home in Edmond.
There are arches and niches everywhere. I don't know what to do with them but I'm learning.

We've gotten some new furniture and I'm working on accessories and curtains.
That's the fun part, you know.

Thanks to all of you who have sent messages.
I hope to be back to blogging.

Saying a prayer for all the people in the path of Tropical Storm Isaac.

Oh so nice to hear from you! Congrats on the new home. From what I can see, it looks like it will be a very enjoyable home to decorate. I am sorry to hear your move has been so hard but I really do sympathize. I recently switched stores and job positions with the same company and am really homesick for my old store buddies. It's a good move but kinda sad too, so I really get it for you because your situation is much more. I pray things will get better soon for you, it takes time. Warm hugs!

Hi Stacey!
You have been missed in the blog world...it is so very hard to leave a place you have been grounded in for so long. We moved here from California and still miss being there...but are so happy to have great friends here! You will have your new home just like you like it before long! I've been on a bloggy break and a short vacation..found out my middle son is getting married this fall! Talk about short notice..only about 10 weeks to plan a wedding all the way in Georgia! Good to see you post!

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I am having a bit of a hard time adusting too. I think once I get connected at church and get to know some neighbors things will feel better. I keep reminding myself that these things take time.

From what I can see, you have a good start making your new house a home. I'm looking forward to seeing more.
It is so good to see you back and posting. You have been missed.
Sorry you are having a rough time settling in. Give it some time and I'm sure you will adjust. It must be hard being so far from your boys. My prayers for you as you adjust to the change.
Come back and share more. Wow! I love that chair and ottoman.

SO good to know you are well and settling in! This is just a new adventure for you...and one I know you will do with style and grace! I moved 17 times as a military wife so I know how hard it is, especially leaving those you are close to. Just give yourself time to settle in. You will soon feel at home in your new space!
Love,
Sue

Hi Stacey!
We've moved 7 times in 22 years of marriage. One time was after only 18 mos. and we got transferred to another state. I understand how hard it can be and my heart goes out to you. However, looks like everything is coming together beautifully! I hope you'll show us more soon! Have fun with everything!

Yay! Congratulations Stacey - your new home is beautiful, just as I knew it would be. It's a bittersweet time, I'm sure, but you have a lot to look forward to - the Fall, the Holidays in your new home and "Poofing the Pillows". Enjoy!
xoxo,
Kim

Well, it seems that you're settling into your beautiful home nicely! We did 5 corporate moves; and it was always tough, after making great friends in each city. The beauty of it is that we've all kept in touch; and visit when we're in each other's cities. So, it always works out in the end. And you'll make lots of new friends!!

I'm so glad you're blogging again! Your home is just gorgeous. That staircase . . . speechless. And jealous :) I know you will have this place whipped into shape in no time! We made a mad dash to Canton on Saturday but didn't make it to LaurieAnna's, I think I'm really afraid of how crazy I might go in there. I love the "blank slate" bedroom, it could be fun to do some really rich neutrals with splashes of seasonal color. But that pretty little accessory on the bed will always be the best one!

It is so hard leaving friends and family, being a military wife I have had to do it often. I can't wait to see more of your home when you have everything together. I love your toile chairs and your centerpiece is great...but that leopard chair, OMG! gorgeous!!!
