Pinning and Singing

Oh my goodness!  Did they really have to invent Pinterest?
Between blogging and pinning, I may not leave my chair!
No not really, Friday I worked 10 hours in my classroom. :)

Guess what I've been pinning lately?  Well, there is a whole genre of bloggers and pinners who are...teachers.  Yeah!  My friends and soulmates.  The cool thing about teachers is that most of them share and steal ideas.  Ideas are free for the sharing most of the time if it benefits the kids.  Anyway, here are some neat ideas that I've been loving and reproducing.

"A Good Friend" is from The Inspired Apple.

Finding mean, median, mode, and range.  You remember that, right?
This is a simple activity that my students will like.
This idea came from Debbie Diller's blog.

Debbie is a reading & math teacher from Texas.
She has published several books and I hang on her every word. :)

This is such a cute organization idea.
I do like to have my ducks in a row.
Organization reduces stress.

Mmm, now just think with me about three months from now when it's cold.
Doesn't this soup look delicious?

I think it's from foodgawker.com.

In honor of this linky party hosted by 5 Minutes Just for Me, I've picked a special song which should be playing for you right now.

Jack Johnson is singing "We're Going to Be Friends".

I concur! Pinterest and blogging are 2 of my fave indulgences.
God bless you for teaching, a job to be proud of, I could never do it.

I could spend all day on pinterest! I am always finding new early childhood ideas to use with the programs I work with.

Thanks for the ideas. I am new to Pinterest and I guess I didn't realize that there were teaching ideas out there. (I teach 3rd grade.)
Thanks,

I really only started learning about Pinterst and not sure I get it. Been there just when a blogger has linked something. I'm sure I will not be able to stay away when I figure it out.

That organization sink drainer is a great idea!

I enjoyed all the pictures and I bet you get a lot of good ideas for teaching when looking on Pinterest.

I also joined the party this week, sharing about my "fur babies"

Trying to avoid pinterest until I'm ready for school to start. Students come Thursday. I got some great ideas from Pinterest for my class. Now I have to go look for you on Pinterest. I'll have to see what I can "steal" from your boards. :)

Guess we are all loving pinning. To me, it's my one huge inspiration board.
I am so not ready for school to start back. I don't get to see my kids as much..during the summer, they can come hang out, spend the night, sleep late...now, it's all about structure! bummer :)

I have heard this same response from my friends who ventured into the Pinterest arena of the computer life. I am sure it must be encouraging to connect with other teachers. I am sure they feel that way about you too. Hope you have a real good year!

Pinterest was taking too much time so I had to cut back! Sounds like you love your job. That's a good thing when you're a teacher. There's nothing worse than a teacher who doesn't want to teach. Have a good week!

So glad you came to welcome me back.

I'm not into pinning but I can see how it could become addictive. I do look at peoples pins now and then but blogging is so time consuming I just can't think about adding one more computer based activity!

Hi, Stacey..hope you are enjoying this day off. It will be awhile before you have another...right?

I am going this afternoon to look at fabric for my *underneath the sink* skirt.
If you make one, be sure to blog about it...can't wait to see it.

bj said...

Hey...
Well, I can't decide if I want to remove my doors and put a skirt under my sink..will have to wash and iron it often, I'm sure.
I've looked for fabric that I might like but haven't found any.
Have you done it yet?

Hi Stacey,
I have been pinning like a mad woman but I still don't know all the ins and outs yet. But I love putting all the great ideas and crafts in one place. How great that you got the teacher hook-up! LOL! How is school going this year? I know the kids love you to pieces.:)

Oh I know how addicting Pinterest can be. I have shared the fun with several friends and my daughters too. It is hard not to stay there pinning all the time. Alas, I must get some things done too. lol. Seriously, I do believe that the potential of Pinterest can be as far reaching for blogs and websites as facebook.

I'm probably the only one on the planet that hasn't used pinterest! It sounds like it's very addictive. I don't know if I would have time for it either! Looks like your pins are good ones too. I have a son in the 4th grade so some of what you showed would be good for him.

So nice to hear from you Stacey! I think of you often too. I knew when I first saw Pinning that I needed to look the other way or I'd never get another post done, lol!

We do have programs but with funding cuts, overcrowding and trying to get the right fit it just hasn't worked for him. He has always wanted to do it on his own anyway so now he'll have the chance.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving dear friend!
