A Beautiful Winter Day

Just came in from a little walk around the yard.
Brr...it's chilly but sunny and beautiful.

I love nandina berries.  They are just so pretty!

My perfectly hot cup of coffee kept me warm while I walked.
My sister-in-law gave me these fun red Fiesta cups for Christmas.
Aren't they great?

I remember a few years ago, a local radio station sponsored "The Deadest Bed" contest.
It seems like we could win that right now.  The pond and all the plants around it are tucked in for the winter. By that I mean they are frozen...and brown.

I have faith that it will all come back.  Then I can work on this and this.
Meanwhile, I'm praying for a possible snow day on Tuesday.
I have many hours worth of progress reports to do this week.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

love the nandina bushes too! At least they give color :). I bet the water feature looks pretty when it snows. We are hoping for snow here in MS tomorrow.

I have red cups like that too. Yes, it is that time of year that the gardens rest, good for them, I bet they get sick and tired of weeds too! LOL

I think your pond looks wonderful even if it is dead and brown. It really is very nice! Your red cups are wonderful. I love fiesta ware even though I don't own any myself, it is so fun! We are expecting snow here in SC soon too. I will be shocked if we get it again so soon after the unexpected Christmas snow. Hope you stay warm and snuggly!

They're predicting 4-6" of snow for our area starting tomorrow night! Keeping my fingers crossed...that way, Brittany can't leave for college for several more days! :)

Hey Stacey! I'm enjoying the respite of Winter and not having to work in the yard for a few more months. Being pregnant I wasn't able to do any maintenance last year so I'm gonna have my work cut out for me this Spring. I always love seeing your gorgeous yard in full bloom. You have a gift.
xoxo,
Kim

Even in the winter, your backyard looks beautiful. And, I really like your Fiesta mugs and the thought of hot coffee in them:) As for the chocolate cake you mentioned...I got the recipe from The Daisy Cottage and every time I make it, it gets rave reviews.

Stacey,
It's snowing here today so you might get that snow day sooner than you think.:)
PS Love your new cups!

Hi Stacey! Your garden is still just dreamy, and I can't wait to see it again in the spring! Looks like you all had a nice holiday. Those boys are adorable (I'm sure they would appreciate that description). I always think of you when it's snowing :))
Miss you! Will catch up on all your posts soon.

Your berries are pretty and bright as are those pretty Fiesta cups. I remember how pretty your garden is in summer. It will be again soon enough. Even here in "Sunny" Ca. we are experiencing the garden blahs. Time to enjoy the outdoors anytime is special. Hope you get snowed in and get your reports done.

Love Fiesta Ware - Have about 3 different colors myself.
No red, but I do like it after seeing your cup.

Fresh salmon!! so jealous
My mother and her husband go fish up in Alaska and that is the best.
Sad that you don't like it. :(

I am pretty sure we will not be having school for the next couple of days here.

I like your red berries and your red cup to match. I very much like your idea of taking a stroll in your yard while sipping on a good hot cup of coffee. Wonderful idea!!!!

Girlfriend...I can SOOOOO relate to the screaming wallpaper and gold faucets. I've had them both and you are 100% right...they had to go. Even so...I'd have taken both of them over the crummy/nasty/gross bathroom we've lived with for far too long. I'm quite sure had it not be hidden away in our bedroom it would have be redone years before. Had anyone seen it I'd have surely died from embarrassment!

Isn't today lovely? Makes me long for Spring! It will all come back...it always does.

Love to you~
