A Snowy Day 2010

I could call this Frosty Friday for all my Oklahoma friends and we could link up. :)

I love Oklahoma so much. When I was a kid growing up in Dallas, we used to just pray for weather like this.

It is just beautiful. I loved it this morning when I woke up and creeped around the house in the quiet. Snow makes everything sound so soft and sweet.

Guess how many pieces of chocolate cake a girl can eat when it's snowing and icing outside?

I'll never tell!! On another note, we were supposed to fly to Chicago today. I don't think it's happening but the airline won't say so just yet.

I know about that Oklahoma weather that is where our Kentucky weather is coming from. Guess we are sharing that same weather stream along with the cyber 'stream'. I just noticed I have one book from your shelf and one from your husband's book. I love history. I have the Roosevelt book and the Shack. Be safe if you travel.

I'm glad you're staying warm and you've got power! It seems like some of your neighbors don't! The snow really is so beautiful. It looks like it missed us. (I was looking forward to it!) Maybe next time.
Be safe on your trip and have a great time. :)

Your beautiful scenery looks similar to ours. Did you save any chocolate cake for me? Sounds yummy!

Stacey,

It does look like a winter wonderland outside for sure! It's pretty... I just can't drive in it!
I made a huge breakfast for my family..I'm sure we will gain a few pounds during our "hibernation"

Stay safe and warm,

Sonia

You had choc cake I fixed brownies...we have the same look now outside...we started with ice at 8:00 yesterday...then sleet and the snow arrived around 10 this morning here in central Oklahoma.Just look out and the snow is still coming down real heavy..I would say we already have received several inches.

Stay in - go to Chicago at a later date.

Oh Stacey sweetie...
Memories...Sweet memories...I talked to Moma last night and she said the snow was coming down in bundles and bundles. They are in Enid. This is what I hated most about Oklahoma. When you have to get out and work in it, and the drivers don't know how to drive in it. It makes for horrible conditions. Now if I could be inside, and pick and choose when I wanted to get out in it, then I would have stayed. But I say give me the Phoenix desert any time. We have been here over 25 years, and Stacey girl, we are staying.

Your place is beautiful and so cold and freezing look it. If you don't mind, I will just gaze from my blog at a distance.

Have a beautiful weekend. Like your thinking I would say you probably won't be going to Chicago today. Country hugs sweetie...Sherry

What a beautiful winter wonderland outside your window, Stacey. Your pond looks beautiful in the snow.

I hope you're staying warm and safe inside, or if you are flying to Chicago, I hope you have a safe trip.

we've had some snow but not nearly as much as you. Yours is so pretty and you are right, snow makes things so quiet and cozy. Wonder what the Chicago weather is like? Oh and it was brownies at our house.

Hey Stacey,

Your pictures look BEAUTIFUL. I just posted pictures from Southern Oklahoma on my blog and there is an explanation of why you "missed" my Thursday post. Cause it wasn't there on Thursday.....lol.

We too are just LOVING this snow. We didn't end up with the ice (THANK GOODNESS) just beautiful snow!

I hope they do cancel your flight and you can stay safe and sound at home. There is always another day.♥

Your pictures are beautiful, Stacey. I love mornings like this. But you must be disappointed about your trip. The weather here in Chicago is beautiful. A little cold, but sunny. I hope you can make it!

Stacey, Oh how I envy you. Your pictures are beautiful. I would love to move to a cold climate, but hubby loves Florida. I so enjoyed the cold front that came our way recently.

Hope all goes well with your trip.Stay safe and nice and warm.

Stacey,
A girl after my own heart...chocolate cake really tastes great on a snowy day, or really any day! It is about 5 degrees here right now...brrrr....but the snow can be beautiful. Hoping you can fly to Chicago as planned. Have a wonderful trip and weekend. Amy :)

Your pictures are beautiful! We are enjoying the same beautiful weather here in Ozark, MO. No school today and we made doughnuts(as is our tradition on snow days). I wish I had your chocolate cake though...that sounds perfect!!!

Wendy

Your photos are beautiful. I, too, love the snow. We get snow here in Oregon and I love, love, love the snow days and the neighbor kids laughing while they play in it.

I am thankful that I found another snow lover. I think your back yard looks like a winter wonderland with the snow. I think chocolate cake is perfectly acceptable in a snow storm.

If you go to Chicago, I hope you have a safe trip.

It looks so beautiful and peaceful. I bet your flight gets canceled! Good luck and stay safe and warm!

Very pretty, but I think the rarity of the snow must make it prettier. Here in Michigan it's not nearly so revered...and I KNOW how many pieces of chocolate cake a girl can eat when it's snowing. The real question is, how long does it take to lose the extra chocolate cake around my middle when it thaws?

Great photos, Stacey. I don't think you have as much ice as we do. I got out this afternoon and was amazed at all the broken tree branches because of the ice. I took some photos....
Thanks for sharing these, girl...and I laughed out loud about the cho. cake!! :)

I am jealous! We rarely EVER get snow here in NE Texas. Mostly a mess is all we ever get.
Your pictures are gorgeous.
