Saying Goodbye

...to Bottacelli Red in my dining room! I have loved this color for 9 years. That's enough. :)

I'm excited! I'm not exactly sure what I'm doing in this room. It will definitely be lighter and brighter. I think chair rail and more molding is in order when my Dad can get here to help me. Kind of thinking about changing the red toile but that's a big decision. Any input?

With your great taste, I am sure it will be lovely. Looking forward to seeing the results! The red toile is what your drapes are? I can understand wanting something different after nine years, though for sure!

Oh sweetie...
I don't think I am one to help, I just painted my dining room red, and I so love it.

I'll have to check back with you in 9 years for options though. I could never get rid of the red toile though.

Can't wait to see what you decide to do. I'll be watching you. How soon does you Dad come? Chair rails would be so fun.

Happy New Year sweetie. Country hugs, Sherry

Stacey,

Well the red is beautiful..but after 9 years you are probably ready for a change. It's kind of sad to change things though. I love red toile!! When I redid my dining room I went to a safe neutral, but prefer a darker color really, but I wasn't sure if we were going to sell our home or not. I think we are staying put for a couple of years so... I may go to a darker taupe color. One nice thing about tans and browns you can just change drapes and pillows, etc and have a whole new look without repainting. I'm sure whatever you pick is going to be beautiful..you have wonderful taste. Can't wait to see it finished! Sonia

Hi Stacey, Thanks for stopping by my blog. A couple weeks ago you let me a comment about posting by blog on Metamorphosis Monday at Between Naps On The Porch, I finally did that yesterday, just want to say thanks for that.
About your dinning room I'm having the same problem with my living room, it's burgundy, and in need of a change. I have been liking the color blue more these days.

Hi Stacey,
January is a great time to change things up a bit. I have a red kitchen, and as much as I love it, red is a pretty strong color! I can't wait to see what you come up with in your dining room. Isn't it amazing what a difference color can make? Please take lots of pics for us! Amy :)

Change is so wonderful and terrible and fun and exhausting and worth it. Lighter will make you feel better and I can't wait to see what you pick. Chair rail is always great in a dining room and you are so lucky to have your dad to work on it you. Decisions, decisions...may be your topiary will look good in your fresh new room. Incentive to get started :). Thanks for visiting today!

I'm saying goodbye to Red TOO! At least solid walls of it. I'll probably use it as an accent piece, but am going in a total new direction, color wise.

Glad ya'll had a white Christmas. Happy New Year from Houston!

You know I love red too Stacey, but I am getting ready to paint my red kitchen a lighter color. Maybe a blue? Can't decide yet. I can't wait to see what you choose. Painting a room always makes it feel so fresh:>)

I know it's going to be fabulous whatever you do! I am definitely partial to the red toile though 'cause I have been using it for years and still love it!

Gypsy Brocante said...

Too funny ... I to will be "erasing" the red of my dining room walls soon ... to my families dismay, they say "it's the best room in the house" ... I'm just ready for change! Are you having a hard time covering the red?

I'll be back to check on your progress!
