Projects

When Michelle worked on my blog she made me a cute little button called Projects. My thinking was that if you proclaim something publicly then you've got to get around to it....right?

Let me just tell you that I'm so picky about most things. But I can completely ignore other things (messes) and pretend they don't exist (teenage boy's bathroom).

I'm proclaiming that these projects are important and need attention:

-Revamp potting bench. Needs a new coat of stain and some plants, for Heaven's sake!!

-Repaint Tanner's room. He's 17. His room is currently a combination of everything from childhood and teenage time. It's a mess.

-Get serious about grocery shopping. I keep thinking in my mind I will become one of those amazing people who grocery shops for free with coupons. Well, it isn't gonna happen. I sure need to do better though.

-Revamp a flower bed in our front yard. Three years ago when the pond was built the concrete edging that we have around our flower beds was broken on this one bed. Now it's a neglected mess. It's in the front yard! Every other bed is carefully tended...not this one.

-Paint and organize our garage BEFORE it gets too hot. Ick!! Nothing fun about this job.

There I've said it. These projects are hanging over my head. Oh yeah...those mistreatments in my kitchen. Still don't love them. Boo hoo.

Now, I've got to get busy!! Have a great day!

Good Morning Stacey,
Wow, what gumption you have, first a new blog and now a list of projects for on it. You go girl. I have some of the same projects to do.
Thanks for visiting me and sharing!
Have a great day!

Wow, that sounds like a daunting list of projects! I have a list like that too. We can only get so much done so don't beat yourself up over trying to get it done too fast! Did you know the apron you won for OWOH is in this months issue of Artful Blogging?:>)

Stacey, If only this method would work for me. I have been proclaiming to my sisters that I am going to organize some of my closets, thinking that would force me to do it. Didn't work. I will get around to it, just do not know when. But, now that I know publicly your waiting projects...I may be the " Do as I say...not as I do" type friend that can help you. One more time, your header is so very attractive!

Wow, I totally hear you....I don't think my list would fit on my blog post....LOL! You go girl!

Hugs,

Seriously, it's like a self-fulfilling prophecy????? build a project button, and they will come kind of mentality????? Oh, girl, I don't KNOW if I want a button like that...because it sure makes you accountable??? OK, get to work on number one and show us (promptly!!) the finished job!! I wonder how long that button's gonna last!! LOL!! :)

You know I have a lot of projects going on... I think we should have a "play day"!!! I can't wait to see what you do. And yes, I hate red flowers but I also hate ice cream. I am a weirdo.

I love your red geraniums.

What a great idea! Maybe I should add a Projects button to my blog so I'd actually get things done! :) LOL!! Good luck on your projects list!

I was JUST JUST JUST thinking about this! Oh Stacey, I have so much to do, and silly me - I keep adding things to my plate, i.e., that screen door! LOL! I should be out back digging up the patio area and getting that all put together - but alas, it's just one more thing still on my list of things to do. Hope you get everything you want to get done soon - so that you have time to enjoy your beautiful yard and home this summer! :) Artie

I've got a long list of projects to do, but I haven't been brave enough to actually write them down on a piece of paper. I guess I'm thinking that if I don't make a list I won't have to start! ;-)

I'll be looking forward to seeing that completed list of projects.♥

Since EVERYTHING in the garage, except my car, is hubby's - - - I proclaim that HIS area to organize, clean, and paint. Saves me a world of trouble.

Hi, just hopped over here from "Sugarpie Farmhouse" just 'cause I like the name of your blog!
I've been an avid couponer for a few years now, and save at least 30% (sometimes over 50%) on groceries. "Couponmom.com" and "Grocerygame.com" are two sites you might want to check out. Couponmom is free. GG costs a little, but she does all the work for you as far as shopping lists and you save way much more than the cost. You can try it for a few weeks for a dollar to see if you like it.
But even if you don't do that, there's one piece of advice I learned about grocery shopping that I wish I had known 20 years ago. You don't buy things when you need them, you buy things when they are cheapest! Example: Does your family like peanut butter? Even if you have a half jar at home, pick another jar up if you see it on sale. If you have a coupon, even better. Which would you rather do, spend 4.99 on jar of PB when the jar you have runs out? Or reach into your pantry for that jar that only cost you 1.99? Doing this, little by little, you'll build up a nice stockpile in your freezer/fridge/pantry and in a few months you'll find you have so much 'on hand' you hardly need to do any shopping at all! Good luck with your grocery venture and all your other projects!

Grocery shopping is a problem for me too. Every week I have great hopes of shopping with coupons, But it just never pans out...

It does kind of hold you accountable when you put a list together like that, doesn't it? Good luck with the projects, and let us know how they turn out! :)

Well you certainly sound motivated Stacey. I'm gonna check back in a coupla weeks (sounds fair) to see your progress. Maybe, just maybe, you'll light a fire under me! Have a great weekend my dear! ~Kim

Well Stacey, that's why they're called "projects." They're a continuing process I guess. I bet that pond is starting to warm up. I've got the spring algae thing going on in mine right now.

I've got plenty of projects lingering too! It's funny that you should mention using coupons as I just subscribed to the Sunday paper so I can start clipping coupons and do the same thing. I am so jealous of hearing my friends getting their groceries for free by using coupons. I should be able to do this too! We'll see how it goes, but I'm going to give it a fair shot!

Have a great week ahead!
