It's Grillin' Time

Happy Saturday!

I know that lots of my blog friends are off in Canton or Wimberley (TX) and I'm so jealous I could just die! Instead, let's share a few recipes for cooking out on the grill.

Cooking outside is one of our favorite things to do. I do not have any patented recipes but I have a few ideas to share.

First, with hamburgers we like to use 80/20 ground beef. We think that if the meat is too lean it doesn't taste as good. Don't you agree? I like to mix in this wonderful mix I bought called Big Nasty's Beef Seasoning by Ralph's Circle R brand. I mix the burgers several hours ahead of time when possible to give the flavors time to mingle. Delicious!! Any brand of beef seasoning would work..the main thing is to do it a little ahead of time. I have to admit that we like ours pretty well done with yummy cheese melted on top.

Oh, I think that's what we will have tonight.

Another thing we grill all the time is chicken fajitas. They are so easy to make and so much less expensive than getting them in a restaurant. I buy the chicken breast tenderloins by Tyson and then marinate in Grill Mates Southwest Marinade. After grilling the chicken, we slice it up.... add sauteed peppers & onions, a little cheddar cheese, and roll them on flour tortillas. Easy peasy!

I'm embarassed to admit this...we love to eat fried bacon and eggs at our house. Any time the weather permits, we cook it all on the grill! Yep. I put my frying pan right on the grill and cook away. Why? It keeps the smells out of my house. Let's face it...when the bacon's over you don't want your house to smell that way.

Now let's go on over to some other places that love to grill.
Cottage Around the Corner
Marilyn's Simple Pleasures
There's Always Thyme For..
Jackie at Empty Nest Full Life
Sit a Spell
Sentimental Journey

Thank you for coming by and participating today. Have a great weekend!
If I missed you, please just let me know and I will add you to the list pronto. :)

Oh, dear....Stacey, I forgot all about this grilling deal. I had my Pink Sat. post in draft all week and never gave it another thought. It just posts automatically so I don;t think about doing another post for that day. So sorry....
We LOVE cooking out...and do it summer AND winter.
If you do this again, I have several ideas, not really recipes, on grilling outside.
(never thought about cooking my bacon out there)

Stacey,
Yummy...your ideas sound just great. I love hamburgers and chicken fajitas so much. We are actually expecting a little snow today (can you believe it?) I can't wait for grilling season! Amy :)

We love hamburgers and fajitas also....it is making me hungry reading this post.

I never thought about cooking breakfast out there. You know we cook it outside when we are camping but I hate that bacon smell in my home too....great idea!

We love grilling, too! Oh...should I say one of us? My honey loves to eat what I grill-but hops on his tractor when it's grilling time!

You have inspired me to put some burgers on the grill today!

Have a great Saturday,

Sounds YUMMY. Make have to grill up some burgers tonight for the hubby. We love to grill. It is also crawfish season here. Another love of ours. Back deck and grillin, doesn't get any better than that.

That sure sounds mighty tasty. You're really making me want a grill. Now if I can just get the foundations of a patio, we're off and running. Can't put the cart before the horse.

Oh, grilling is our favorite thing to do when the weather's nice (and even sometimes when it's not)! I agree with the 80/20 beef; too lean, and it's not as flavorful. I like to add ground black pepper, season salt, and onion flakes to my burgers. I also like to let chicken breasts marinate all day in Italian dressing. I would grill every day if I could!

Thanks for the wonderful ideas!

I must try your idea for making chicken fajitas on the grill. I love them, but rarely think to make them at home.

I'm going to have to look for that hamburger mix. I've never heard of it before. Also need to try to find that fajita marinade. I always use the seasoning packet & never thought to buy the marinade. Also, never thought of cooking bacon & eggs on the grill. You've taught me a lot today!

Shoot, I missed the grill party. It is still so cold around here it is still hard to think about it. I'll try to get around to visit your participants. Having a really busy week around here.

THANKS so much for sharing these. We have burgers every friday night on the grill. I will definitely be trying your brand of seasoning soon. I love bacon and eggs too. I never thought about cooking them on the grill though. We don't have bacon at our house too often because of the smell. We've tried the precooked bacon. Girl, there's just no comparison, ya know? Maybe we need to try ours on the grill too!

Have a great week!
