Decorating Projects

This pretty red dining room is saying, "Change me, change me!" It's still perfectly fine the way it is but it's been like this for 8 years. A chair rail would be nice or maybe a different color.

My living room is 99.5% finished. Just waiting for a couple of pillows to top it off. The ottoman came on Friday and I love it! Of course, it needs a little something perched on top. I had been waiting for the ottoman to come to decide about a rug....now I can see I will not get a rug. I will show the whole room when the pillows come.

Now I know several of you told me to get a rug but I don't think it needs it. Sometimes I think the look of a room isn't exactly relayed in pictures..and this is one of those cases. I like the clean look of no rug in this room.

Also on my list is my laundry room. Here's a little peek:

I could lie and say it doesn't always look like this but it does. It's our catch all spot. Months ago we talked about spiffing it up but never got around to it. It really just needs organization.

I love to have a list of projects, don't you?

I adore you red kitchen. Those chairs are to die for~~~~ Although I love the red, changing the color might be the change you need. Thats what I do when I need a new look and cant spend the bank. paint is cheap. Covering that red will be a job. I did it once in my foyer, whewww! I do miss my red foyer. Its such a statement color. Your laundry looks like a nice big size..my dream. Have fun in there~

Stacey,

I love the red in your dining room! As the previous poster said, changing the color might very well bring new life into the room...though I love it as it is. It will be a doozie covering that color, so be prepared!

Hope your Monday's a good one...and, yes, I always have projects to get completed!

OMG!! I want that ottoman!! As for your red room, this is the first time I've seen it so of course I'm thinking WOW what a beautiful room! But I definitely see where you are coming from, me the "Queen" of change...LOL!! What if like you said you put up a chair rail and painted the top half a different color and left the red on the bottom? I don't know just an idea and I am very jealous of your laundry room. My washer and dryer is down in out dungeon basement. Well when you have a house built in 1911 the basements ain't pretty. Have a great day Stacey. Can't wait to see what you do.

Hugs,
LeAnn:)

By the way, the pan marks in my kitchen sink are outta here :-) Thanks to BKF. Hip hip hooray, thanks again for the idea. You just never know what you will learn from fellow bloggers.

Stacey,
You know I am a red girl! I love the color red, especially in a kitchen or dining room. The toile is just gorgeous. What a nice job you did with that room. I also know what you mean though about getting tired of one look. I am always changing things around. I am soooo like that too. Your home is just lovely! I would love to see more. Amy :)

Hi Karen,
I love your red walls! Your room is so pretty!
I have been working on my laundry room most of the day. Organizing mainly, but also a few decorating touches as well. :o) I love your cabinets in your laundry room! They are so pretty and it would be so nice if I could conceal a few things, if we had cabinets. :o)
Have a nice day.
Sincerely ~ Tricia Anne

I love your red walls! Your furniture is gorgeous too :-)

I am kicking myself for not painting my dining room red like I wanted to! I let my hubby talk me out of it and I regret it :(

Your laundry room is great, I would be very motivated to do laundry if mine looked like that! hahahaha

Hey lady!
I actually love the color of your dinning room. It's simliar to mine. Very nice ottoman!

I used to enjoy having a list of projects to do, but then I realized how expensive they end of being. lol!

Oh, Stacey, i'd give an arm and a leg for a laundry room like yours..
I have a laundry CLOSET...which is really not too bad. I just would like a ROOM. ANYWAY, I just worked on it all day long yesterday, re-organizing it and while I had everything out of it, repainted with some yellow paint I already had (remember...I live on a social security budget!!). It looks much better and I will show it to you soon...and please know that I am a very, VERY brave girl to post such a spot. My house is 60 years old and is a builders tract house with none of the frills at all...ANYWAY..yep...I love projects. The next is my office/craft/computer/sewing room..'I dread it because I have to remove a border..."please, God, let it come off easy!"

I love your dining room--love those toile chairs. But I know how you feel--mine is red, too, and lately I've been wanting to change it. And about your laundry room--that looks pretty good for a "real" shot of your "mess!"

I too love your red kitchen! It's perfect the way it is. But I understand how you can get bored with things. I sure shift and change things around, I know. As for your laundry room, I think it looks fine. I just wish I had a space to catch something. I just have the washer/dryer, and no dump site!

I like having a list of project that I know CAN be accomplished, whether w/ $ or skill!

Hey Stacey,

That red is beautiful with the white molding and window treatment also with red toile on your chairs.

But I know what you mean about wanting a change.

Depending on what kind of look you are going for would depend on the color you choose. If you want to keep the red toile on the chairs, you could do a rich sage green or a buttery yellow, I've even seen the red toile with khaki walls.

What do you want to do in your utility room? Just curious.
