Can I Make a Confession?

Yes, I need to confess.

I love Christmas.

I always have and always will.

Often times though, when it reaches this point in the season the urge for some normal starts to over take me. Does this happen to you?

The thought of a new year with new opportunities overwhelms me. I love the chance to think of things new. New decorating, new goals, new chance to break bad habits, new chance to be better to the people I love, the list goes on and on.

I do realize that any of these things can happen any day but a NEW YEAR makes it so much better. Do you start to feel this way?

I guess it comes back to remembering to take it one day at a time, enjoy the present, and count my blessings.

Morning, Stacey. I agree with you - we need to be so thankful and take one day at a time. Sometimes I try to leap into the whole month at one time!

To answer your question: the flooring is granite! I thought it was marble at first, but what do I know!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Stacey,
I know exactly what you mean! Thankfully, even though we can think days ahead, we still have to take them one-at-a-time. ;) But now you've gone and got me thinking about decorating in 2009. Thanks a lot! ;)

Thanks for coming by! I'm pretty happy with our home overall. Fairport isn't too far, it's outside of Rochester, which is only about an hour and a half from me, so I'd guess round about 2 hours to Fairport. WNY is beautiful year round, I'm happy we moved here, if nothing else but for the 4 season climate!

I am ready for Christmas now and I am anxious for a new year. Hopefully, I will keep my new year's resolutions and get more organized and keep my house clean and be a better person . . . Well, I need to work on that list. Twyla

I am so there with you. Even though I love all the Christmas decor, it is starting to overwhelm me. I look forward to taking it down, cleaning my house really good, making new goals and start fresh. Amen sista!!

Hugs,

I'm kind of with you. I feel so rushed this year, it feels like I'm going to totally miss out on enjoying it!

Thank you for saying that! I was feeling the exact same way today...actually I was a little "grinchier". I am trying to finish up shopping with the rest of the public and noticed that everyone was rude, rushed, tired looking and not smiling.
What does that say about the season? I think it is far too commercial and it's so easy to forget what it is really about. Just made me kind of sad to see so much stress on everyone's faces.

So...I too am looking forward to a New Year and for all to remain normal again. Also, waiting for more college acceptance letters for my son in January! We got our first one Monday (Penn State early decision) and that was our best gift this season so far! Ya-hoo!

You are not alone. I love Christmas...the older I get, I think I love it more. Probably for more genuine reasons now than as a child. And I love everything about Christmas. Jesus, the songs, the lights, the decorations, Santa, Rudolph...Mannheim! Seriously, love it all....so one from lover to another...enjoy and Merry Christmas!!

I fully understand what you are saying. I have chosen the new year to start losing weight. I could start today but I'd blow it during the holidays. Thanks for tthe post.

DEAR STACY,
I WAS TICKLED TO READ YOU LIVE IN EDMOND, OKLAHOMA. I LIVE IN ENID, OKLAHOMA AND WE DROVE TO YOUR TOWN, 86 MILES, ONE WAY, 5 DAYS A WEEK TO BRING OUR DAUGHTER TO RADIATION AT EDMOND RADIOLOGY. OUR LAST DAY TO SAY GOOD-BYE TO YOUR TOWN WAS DECEMBER 10, 2008. THERE IS ALSO ANOTHER YOUNG MOTHER THAT STARTED COMING TO EDMOND RADIOLOGY ON DEC. 9, 2008...FROM ENID...MY DAUGHTER BEING NAMED AMY AND HER NAME BEING AMY.
EDMOND IS A BEAUTIFUL TOWN AND I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO SPEND SOME TIME VISITING IT. MY DAUGHTER AND I BOTH LOVE THE ARTS AND I LOVED SEEING THE FEW BRONZE STATUES THAT WE PASSED...THE ONE BEAUTIFUL ONE AT THE CORNER OF THE HOSPITAL. WHEN TRYING TO FIND DR. BOGARDUS AT EDMOND RADIOLOGY WE WERE LOST OVER BY THE COLLEGE AND SAW SOME BEAUTIFUL BRONZE STATUES THERE.
THIS CHRISTMAS HAS BEEN THE POOREST FINACIALLY BUT THE SECOND RICHEST CHRISTMAS EVER AS OUR DAUGHTER ALSO BATTLED CANCER WHEN SHE WAS 10 YEARS OLD. IF THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SO GROUCHY AND SO BAH HUM BUG HAD BEEN BLESSED WITH THE GIFT WE RECEIVED FOR CHRISTMAS THEY WOULD BE DANCING IN THE STREETS. WE SO LOOSE SIGHT OF WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT. ON JUNE 10, 2008 THEY DID NOT GIVE US 2 MONTHS FOR OUR DAUGHTER TO LIVE AND SHE IS WITH US BECAUSE GOD STILL DOES MIRACLES EVERY DAY...AND THERE IS EDMOND RADIOLOGY. I WILL BE MARKING YOUR BLOG NOW THAT I KNOW YOU ARE AN OKLAHOMAN.
PLEASED TO MEET YOU.
MERRY CHRISTMAS
