Still Fluffing the Living Room

The picture below was stage 1 of getting the chairs back from the reupholstery wonder people. I'm still in awe of the great work that they did.  The furniture was in very good condition but faded and just in need of TLC. Had to look at it a few days..then began playing. This picture shows where I am now.  Still poofing but I was reminded of how much I love symmetry when this came together. This chest and mirror came from another room in the house.  Although this goes back to the days of white washed furniture, I'm still totally in love with it.  Love the curves and details.  Also love the storage. We use the three drawers for hubby's stuff, gloves and scarves, and the bottom drawer is a stash of magazines. It's all in the details so LOOK at this cutie that I found at a new shop here in Edmond. She is hanging from the top drawer of the dresser. I am really enjoying this process.  It has been an exercise in patience for me because it's just taking a long time to get all the parts to come together.  I think I told you that an ottoman is being made..won't be here until after Thanksgiving.  I'm waiting on that to decide whether or not to get a rug. We like for some rooms to have no rug because the floor is so pretty...we'll see.We had an electrician come a couple of weeks ago and put recessed lights in the ceiling.  Although over head lights aren't the prettiest they are necessary sometimes. Paul says it's like we've gained a new room in the house because he can see in there. Now, back to the other side of the room where you all gave me advice last week. I decided not to put plates above my sconce/shelves at all since they are beside the mirror.  Now I don't know WHAT will go there.  Also, it's a 10 foot ceilng so I need something above the print. Still looking for a great floor lamp, etc.  Let me know if you have any amazing ideas.

Hi, Stacey, I think it's looking great! That fabric on the chairs is really nice, looks like matelassee. You'll really enjoy that a lot. Love the chest & plates. I'm one who does like a rug to cozy things up & pull it all together, so I would definitely suggest getting a rug for that conversation area at least. I can't tell how big the room is from these pics, but I do think it would add some color & texture to the space. I'm a rug girl!

I found your blog through Creating Myself (your comment about living in Oklahoma caught my eye--I live in Edmond!) and am enjoying looking around. I would be interested to know what the new shop is where you found the "cutie" on your dresser.
