Just a Peek

Just a little peek at what we've been up to today. You know how it's always messy before it gets pretty. That's where we are right now...stuff everywhere! As time goes by I'm a less is more decorator during the Christmas holidays.

We are working on our Christmas tree. It's going to be a beauty. :) We include every kind of ornament under the Sun. I do not part with all the little ones the kids made over the years. Most of them have been glued repeatedly and are worn around the edges but they are too special to part with.

Katie is just worn out from all the festivities. She and Molly snuck some turkey this morning. It's hard to say no to a sweet doggy.

You should see my house! What a disaster. Boxes everywhere, can't see the top of dining room table. I feel your pain!

Be careful with the doggies and the turkey. My two got some last year and ended up in the vet hospital with pancreatitis for days. The vet chided me because he said every year he ends up with dogs in the hospital because they eat turkey and shouldn't have! I had no idea it was harmful. But my dogs are little, so maybe it makes a difference. When I had bigger dogs they ate most everything!

Hi Stacey! Thanks for swinging by my blog! I scrolled down to the bottom and saw your pics. I love the toile and the rooster lamp! I saw little peeks of plates on the wall, too. You know I love that! I can't even think about Christmas yet. I've got to recover from Thanksgiving before I can face the boxes and mess! Have a great evening...Debbie

Stacey ~WOW~! I've never seen your red toile dining room and it is gorgeous! Laurie at "bargainhuntingwith laurie" would flip! She loves toile. Thanks for your understanding and kind words about our unexpected move. Funny you said that, my father always says just look at life "as an adventure". Hope you had a wonderful Holiday. Looks like you are setting up a second blog huh? Love this Holly background. I thought about using it as well. ~Warmly, Melissa :)

You're better than I am. We have a BIG mess right now and I'm too embarrassed to take pictures and show them. In fact, our neighbors stopped by tonight and I was sooooooooooo ashamed of the way our home is looking right now. We have boxes everywhere!!! This all is just happening way too fast for me. Boo hoo, huh?

Anyhow, yours is looking great already!

I wish I was a less is more Christmas decorator. It always looks so much more elegant. Also, if you think your house is a mess, you should see mine! No! I take that back. Nobody should see mine right now. I don't even want to see it! Can't wait to see your tree all decorated. laurie

Hi Stacey!

Your dining room is gorgeous and I LOVE those toile chairs! You should see my house - haha - boxes piled everywhere, pine needles all over the floor, garlands and lights spread out through the hallways - it's like this every year. Huge disaster before the pretty! Have a great Sunday and have fun with those decorations.

Hugs,
Erin ♥

Hello, I happened upon your blog this evening while visiting Shelia. Your ornaments are so pretty. I am just like you. My tree is just filled with little things my boys and grandchildren have made through the years. Christmas is so much fun at our house as everyone stands around the tree talking about their ornaments. I have a little church I made when I was four years old. I love your blog and will stop by again soon.
