Giving Thanks for a Joyful Noise

Today I'm joining in with Kelli as we prepare for Thanksgiving. I try to be aware of the things and people I'm thankful for often. This time of year you can't help but have the mushy feeling over really small things though.

Right now, I'm so thankful that my son sings!! He's in the shower singing as we speak!! I have to type quickly. He's 16 and would not appreciate this mention.

Really, Tanner is an awesome Bass II singer. He can belt it out. I love to hear him when he doesn't know I'm listening. :) I'm so proud of him because he works hard at his craft taking private lessons and practicing daily.

He sings in two choirs at school. He loves to be in plays and musicals. I'm proud of him not just because he sings...he is a teenager who makes good life choices.

Stacey,

How very sweet. You are so proud and rightly so. A good son is defitinely something to be Thankful for. I have a feeling he is Thankful for his mom, too. ;0)

Well, you have to love that about your son. And I can tell how proud you are. I would much rather see a boy singing and enjoying that aspect of his life rather than racing around in fast cars and trying to impress girls with their silliness. I'm sure he does his fair share of that. But I'm so glad you have a sensible teenager. Sensible and teenager are two words that don't often go together. I think it would be considered a non sequitur!

I'm sure he comes by his life choices naturally, having obviously had wonderful parents. There probably was a time when you didn't celebrate the noise he made! It's wonderful that you can now. laurie

Hi Stacey! I agree, what a blessing your son is. So many kids today do make bad choices. Sounds like your boy has been raised right (by you & your hubby) and is usinh his Gos given Talent!!

Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)

I love your post about your son singing in the shower. I was just upstairs gathering laundry and heard my 17 year old son belting out some tunes in the shower. I stopped for a moment to appreciate hearing him sing like that.....next year he will be going away to college and I know I will miss those little things. I am so thankful for all of my 3 sons! Beautiful Blog you have!

I can't think of a happier sound than a teenager singing in the shower. He sounds like a son to be proud of.
